Any thoughts on all these extended warranties?
When I picked up my car, the dealer went over all the extended warranties available on the RDX. Any thoughts? I don’t usually do extended warranties

tire and wheel: 60mo. $619
scheduled maintenance: 48k miles. $855

What is that "internal / external finishes" for 5 years for a cool $600 bucks?

They make a lot of profit off those or they wouldn't push them like they do. The dealership is a "for profit" entity so beware of anything extra they push on you.
I've never bought an extended warranty for any product for my 55 years on the planet so I figure even if my vehicle has lots of issues which cost me thousands to repair I'm still way ahead of the curve - and the odds are that it won't.
Also note - if you really want the extended peace of mind you can shop around for those. Call a bunch of other Acura dealers and see what price they offer.

What does the schedule maintenance warranty cover? It sounds like you pay ahead for all schedule maintenance for the first 48k.

Like MI-RDX implied, being the first year of a new design comes with its risks. However, I still feel like if something is going to go wrong that it's going to happen soon. That hasn't been the case with everything Acura's put out but I feel like it's been the majority (e.g. 3.7L engine oil consumption, transmission shudder, torque converter failure, etc.). Yeah, there are some like the 2nd gen TL that have had the transmission fail after 80K miles or so. But in the recent past it's typically been gross engineering failure that's manifested itself pretty soon. If nothing goes wrong by the time the manufacturers warranty is up, chances are you won't have anything major after that barring abuse of the vehicle or regular wear and tear.

Consumer Reports advices against extended warranties. It’s better just to have a savings account for car repairs down the road if that is a concern to you. This way you win both ways—extra cash if your car does not break down, or cash for repair bills, if needed.

apparently it covers and spills tears or cuts in your upholstery. Think dog pee on that utrasuede. Covers exterior paint fading hazing or marks from acid rain/ bird poop. They also will treat the finishes every year

Never bought one and repairs in first 7 years never exceeded $1000. Low probability you will need. If you kind of person that is ok with small risk, do not buy it. If u cant sleep at night worrying about it, then get it.

Yeah I looked at what they had briefly and laughed out loud looking finance dead in the eye. I said next because I have to be somewhere. You can but the 8yr/100K warranty from online dealers for less money ( about $700 less) if you search.

I tend to lean towards the extended warranty if I'm buying a vehicle with a significant amount of 'new tech' in it, but only if I get a decent price. One of my previous vehicles was a '14 Cadillac SRX. I bought it in part because my neighbor sells them and I ended up getting a much better than employee price and it really was a nice vehicle. However, the day I bought it I knew I would not own it beyond the factory warranty because 1) Cadillac had/has an abysmal reliability record and 2) because of that the price of the extended warranty was outrageous.
In addition to the actual warranty coverage most plans also include some 'perks' like trip interruption services, rental car/loaner, food and lodging if away from home, etc. This is something to consider as well.
