Alex on Autos Q&A: A few relevant bits
(For some reason, links to a specific time in the video are not working from this site. Instead they all point to the beginning of the video. Hence I'm just providing the timestamp for each. So frustrating!)
Based on some of the conversations I've seen on here, I've linked a few relevant bits below.
22:15 Thoughts on Acura as a brand
27:04 RDX vs RX
49:24 RDX infotainment issues
1:01:39 Manufacturers on their EV strategy
1:06:20 RAV4 moose test that has been posted in this forum to show RAV4 safety is no good
1:14:52 Mach E vs Model Y
1:31:25 Do different AWD systems matter

I love Alex and his reviews, but not being aware of any infotainment issues sounds like my local Acura dealer...."first I have heard of that".

He doesn’t own a RDX, nor is he a member of this forum. So understandable.
He does own a model 3.....

Alex is great he gives a no bull straight facts approach to his channel... I go to other channels for laughs, for drag races, for lap times but Alex just gives a drive and lays out all the facts that the marketing brochures gloss over.

Well, at least we know about it.

I understand that he can't follow every car for every detail, but this is an issue that is not a secret to just this forum or owners. I actually think that his brain first went to the controller pad vs the glitches....or at least my brain went to the glitches and not tti.
Well, at least we know about it.

Not for me. I can’t use Carplay for 10 minutes before it freezes, and a few minutes later, restarts.
The Acura rep told me to do a factory reset, and see if that works. If not, go to the dealer.
Since we are driving home next week, I will wait till then to try it. But by any measure, Carplay for me is now a failure, and Acura clearly has no clue why. “Reset to factory specs, and hope it works” is not a solution.

I decided last night not to wait and did the System Reset from the menus. It will be a couple of days before I go on a trip of any length, so I will see then.
Even if it works, I consider the implementation of the software to be a problem as I have had several other issues, like transmission refusing to upshift, drive mode stuff, etc., that went away after the car slept and restarted.
A year and a half after these cars have hit the road is long enough for software to be fixed.
