AcuraLink: What is your opinion?
What is your opinion of AcuraLink?
Did you sign up for it?
Do you use the free or the paid version?
What features do you find most useful?
I have not signed up for it and have so far largely ignored it, just as I have ignore the free subscription for XM. I don't like putting apps on my phone unless they provide something very useful, and I would have security concerns with anything cloud based.
Thanks.

Are you aware that there is a complimentary AcuraLink trial period for every 2019 RDX that includes all of the available services? There is no difference between "paid" and "free" until the trial period runs out, which is 6 months for the "Remote" and "Concierge" packages, and 1 year for the "Security" package.
Having said that, I am past 6 months. I have used the app and registered my vehicle, but I didn't bother to pay to extend the Remote and Concierge services, and I don't intend to do so.
BTW, if you have concerns about "cloud based services", you might want to read the fine print about the options for the built-in Nav system. It will send data back to the collective, if you let it.

I renewed my subscription after the Trial Period, but just took the Remote/Security Package NOT the Concierge Package. I enjoy the remote start feature, it is such a nice comfort to get into a warm car when you are finished getting groceries or shopping at the mall. The other feature I like in this package is the "Find my Car" (I think that is what it is called). If your car is stolen Acuralink Office will provide location information to the authorities to locate you vehicle. I believe that I will get enough value for money paid. It is probably less then your monthly coffee purchases. lol

Kind of useless except for the remote start, and I will be paying the sub after my trials runs out mainly for this. Although it annoys me to no end that anytime I plug my iPhone in the damn Acuralink app has to pop up and tell me I'm connected, so it's a crapshoot whether I uninstall the app or pay for Acuralink.

You are already using cloud based applications and likely dont even know it. The risk in cloud is no worse than the risk for on premises hosted application. The companies arent as secure as you might think. The cloud is more secure than most on-prem site. I will just leave it at that.
I sgned up for it
I paid for the premiuim version
I use the remote start mostly in the application but will not subscribe to the Concierge as that is a waste on money for me.

I have paid version of Acuralink and HATE IT!
I have paid version of Acuralink for 2019 RDX. Paying for remote start and it rarely works. The app is always difficult to login, usually takes multiple attempts and several minutes of frustration. It always asks if I want to enable Touch ID which I enable but then Touch ID never works. Then after spending 3-5 minutes of logging in the Remote Start command FAILS. Acuralink is easily the worst phone app ever developed

I will renew the Security and Remote when due. Had a few blips early on and Acura fixed on their backend after my call. I use the remote start on my way home on the train and so far it has been perfect. It is real treat to get in and be ready to go.
Have the dealer installed Remote Start Option too.
