As long as it doesn't violate the warranty, I'd gladly pay $1k up to $2k to not hate the vehicle. Still much cheaper than the German nightmare.

I agree 100% with this, and I would add...road test with the tires at the mfgr recommended tire pressure, and if not satisfactory from a noise stand point, spend $1,000 on some good Michelins...or get them thrown in with the deal. You will still be thousands lower than the German SUV, and have (presumably) better reliability. (My 2019 with 20,000 miles has been nearly perfect) AND I am very picky!

On the road noise issue, for early 2019's some ( most? ) dealers weren't installing body plugs that are supposed to be installed into the undercarriage after the shipping restraints are removed. Dunno if that's still a problem, but road noise is much more noticeable if those are missing. With the plugs installed, it's still not as quiet as our 2014 MDX, but nowhere near as noisy as my daughter's CR-V. Not that the CR-V is horrible ( they have Civic for that ), but it's not "near-lux" class.

On the acceleration issue, be aware that with the little turbocharged engines and funky gazillion speed transmissions in these recent vehicles, they sometimes get caught flat at inconvenient times. My 2019 RDX sure does. If you need to be first across the intersection every single time, you might want to consider that.

And sadly I don't share JB's presumption of reliability for this vehicle. Mine hasn't left me stranded, but it has not been trouble free, and my experience does not seem to be unique. The value is still there, but quality and reliability seem to be more uncertain for Honda/Acura at present. I've owned a long string of Honda and Acura vehicles, but I'm no longer confident that they will run forever without problems.
