2023 RDX Technology

2023 RDX Technology
Traded in our 22 Compass for a 2023 Acura RDX Technology over the weekend. Carbon gray with espresso interior.
This is primarily for my wife, we were looking for a compact luxury SUV. Looked at the NX and Q3 which seemed too cramped, the new X1 just came out and supply is lean, unless one goes with a highly optioned one, which gets into X3 territory. I didn't want to spend Q5 or X3 money. The RDX seemed to be the most value for money
We had to buy the Compass in a pinch last year and she liked the two tone Sting gray exterior, the limited trim seemed to tick all the boxes. But the Fiat engine and 9 speed transmission is molasses slow. Not sure what we were thinking at that time, also seems irresponsible trading in a perfectly fine less than a year old low mileage vehicle in this market, but life's short.
Loving the RDX, never want to get out of sport mode.
Things that I think could have been better:

Things that I think could have been better:
- No rain sensing wipers with the technology package, really in 2023, even the Compass and our semi base VW Atlas had it.
- The infotainment with the touch pad, not really a fan, would have preferred a touch screen, but they probably had to move the screen so out of reach to make way for the obnoxious dynamic drive mode selector. Not a big deal for some, but when switching between this and the Atlas, I always get confused and get yelled at for smudging the screen :-)
- No spare tire, only AWD in technology trim gets it and probably some of the higher trims, doesn't make sense, but a lot of luxury brands are doing this.
- The non A-spec trim looks a bit plain jane from the outside, would have liked an option to only get the night edition theme a la Audi, without forking another 3k to go A-spec. Not sure I want to chance a wrap or plasti dip right now.

I am in DFW, so obviously this is going to be regional. They gave me $1500 off but retained the $799 propack (all weather mats, cargo mat and wheel locks). That would have cost me about $400 if I bought them on my own, so essentially $1100 off I would say. But I think $2000 should be doable here, looking at the existing stock and more coming in at most dealers around here. They did try to add about $2k BS add ons but I said I would walk away.

If you don't want to try the plasti dip. Look into wrapping those silver trim parts. It will cost more but probably a better outcome.
Surprised to hear of the inventory there. I bought a 2020 because i didnt want to wait for a new vehicle. 6 month wait where i am.
