2021 RDX with headlight failure

I have a 2021 RDX tech that I bought as a CPO.I have 34k miles, and the daytime running lights are off on one headlight and fading on the other headlight. I brought it in thinking it was covered by the CPO warranty but Acura tells me headlights are not covered. Even though I had extensive discussions with service manager and acura care about the fact that it's a low mileage car and that was certified. They're not covering the replacements. I receiveda quote for $5200!!! . Has anybody had this problem? .Any suggestions? thanks

I haven’t had your problem, but I certainly would be looking through whatever paperwork you have regarding the CPO warranty. Was the DRL out when you bought it?

Agreed, look through the paperwork.

Most of the time, headlights are not covered by AcuraCare (you mentioned this by name so I'm assuming you have it), but when I purchased AcuraCare, it explicitly stated that models with LED headlights were covered.

I would also check and find out what the original In-Service date is for your RDX. It may still be covered by the original factory 4 year warranty. You are obviously still under mileage with your stated 34K, but may be out of luck with the 4 year portion of the warranty.

Yup look through your paperwork for sure!

Wife hit something a few years back, we went through insurance because a small fender bender was like 5k, we needed a new pass side headlight, housing was 2k itself.
I think the DRL is integrated so you'd have to get a new housing or hack it up and throw in a new LED Strip.
