2020 A-Spec - coming off lease and what to check

Hi there..my 2020 A-Spec is coming up to its end of lease and I am planning on buying it. It has 35,000km on it which is nothing and not a single scratch. Before I buy it, I want to have the dealer look for/replace anything whatsoever that may need done before the warranty expires.

I have some creasing on the driver's seat left bolster that likely will be considered "normal" but is there anything else that I should be aware of so that I don't miss out on having something repaired under warranty? I have noticed that there is a loud hum when going over 120 km/h and I think it may be a front wheel bearing but won't know for sure until I change to winter tires. If the noise goes away, may be a wheel balancing issue but if it persists, might be a bearing.

Thanks very much!

You lease ending does not necessarily coincide with the warranty ending. If you buy the car whatever warranty is left will still be in effect.

It's a Honda product, you will be fine! If you've kept up with regular maintenance, and take care of your vehicle, I don't foresee any major issues. Although I don't necessarily plan to keep my RDX post lease, I certainly wouldn't be afraid to.

If you return the car to the dealer, they are free to increase the sale price of the car to market rate. If you simply mail a check to Acura Financial for the current buyout price, you’re better off and will pay a lot less.

What’s stopping you from mailing a check?

Not sure how your reply has anything to do with my question....I didn't say anything about how to buy out the car off-lease (pretty simple process) but rather is there any issues/components/items that might wear out AFTER the warranty expires that I should proactively look into? Some items have a 5 yr warranty, others have 4.

I guess the confusing part is what buying out the lease has to do with warranty repairs. These are two independent events unless is just so happens that your warranty (via mileage) is going to expire right around the time your lease is expiring. Guessing your lease is 36 mo. and your warranty is 48 mo. unless I as still confused???

Rereading your original post, I would definitely have that hum checked out.

You should be going to the dealer to have the hum checked out. Don't be surprised if the dealer finds "stuff" not covered by the warranty.
Where do you get 5 years? I know in the US for Acura, it's 4 years for most things and 6 years for the powertrain.

Not sure why a thread is needed to cover this but hopefully you get what you're looking for.

Has it mostly been trouble free? Then buy it. Even if you wanna get rid of it buy it then sell it, don’t just give it back

I am absolutely going to buy the car. In today's crazy car market with new and used prices being ridiculous, there is no way I am giving it back..
