19-21 infotainment tweaks
Bebo's 22+ infotainment swap reminds me of some infotainment tweaks I made to my 19 A-spec that improve the user experience a little bit.
The two options are in the Android developer options:
The second one makes the GUI transition smoother (not faster), because all elements are drawn together so you don't get the inconsistency when 2D elements appear first followed by 3D elements.
The two options are in the Android developer options:
- "Log buffer size": I think default is 64kB, change it to 16kB.
- "Force GPU rendering": Use GPU to draw 2D objects in the GUI, e.g. the map view in the factory navigation, the AT&T hotspot app, and some elements here and there throughout the GUI.
The second one makes the GUI transition smoother (not faster), because all elements are drawn together so you don't get the inconsistency when 2D elements appear first followed by 3D elements.

Go to three-finger menu > Lower option to the "Diagnostic" menu > Another three-finger hold to the "Developer" menu > Go to "Developer Option" and enable it.
I think the developer option should then appear under Setting>System>About.

I agree with supraman, I enable the developer menu per your instructions, but then I never see a developer option show in the settings>system>about area, or any other area in the menu system. I am on v1.6.3 (most recent) of the infotainment software if that matters. Appreciate the help sonyfever.

Let's try again:
1. Enable "developer option"menu:
Go to three-finger menu > Lower option to the "Diagnostic" menu > Another three-finger hold to the "Developer" menu > Go to "Developer Option" and enable it. Then go to About > Build number, click it many times, and the developer option would appear right below "Acura Software Version."
2. Change these settings in developer option:
- Log buffer size: Default is 256kB, change it to 64kB.
- Force GPU rendering: Enable.

I got it to work with the new instructions. Thanks @sonyfever !

Ok, so this absolutely does not work! First the three button hold only takes you to a menu once on every 100 tries. Once you reach the first and second menu there is no developer option. Please advise.

Tried again this morning and it was a little more responsive. Going through two “three finger menus” gets me to the last image but I don’t see the developer options as mentioned. See below for my options. 2021 aspec

Thanks for all the help!! I finally got it and I would definitely say CarPlay is quicker to switch between Music, Phone, etc. Less lag in the system. Only by a fraction of a second but feels as fast as it should for a modern car now.
