Welcome to the forums.

This thread has been moved to the model specific forum for better response.

Sensors are on the bumper. Tinting would not affect.

I think only the ACC/CMBS uses the radar sensor behind the Acura emblem. LKAS and Road Departure Mitigation uses the camera near the rear view mirror. Windshield window tint and/or anything on the dash that can cause an reflection like a dash cover, dash/windshield phone mount, or clutter could effect the two safety features.

mrgold35, what year model MDX do you have?

Yes, altering the windshield can cause sensors to malfunction.

Something else to be aware of.. Depending on where you live and your insurance company, in the unfortunate event of an accident the insurance company may deny a claim if the windshield is tinted.. Happened to my son's friend a while ago it was a mess..

What is the desire to tint windshields? It seems like a safety issue. The cars I notice with tinted windshields seem to always have other "douchey" mods, too.

LOL. . . . . the main purpose is to provide protection from the sun. However, if not tinting for the purpose of sun protection, it has become a popular mod that is supposed to bring the cool factor.

One of these days I'm going to invent some glasses that you can wear that help shade from the sun. I will call them sunglasses. Or, no, that is a silly name... I'll call them sun-monster-protector-apparatus PATENT PENDING(TM)(R)(C). Maybe I'll just settle in the middle and call them Ray-Ban. Regardless... Someone should really get their shit together and invent those. An added bonus is you could wear them outside of your car... And even take them off when it's dark outside. Oh, if only they existed......

some states are making it highly illegal to tint any glass forward of the back passenger seats. Too many police being shot.
