Wiper Fluid

For my 2015 MDX, The no fluid was sprayed when I wanted to - therefore I guess it was empty/the dealer forgot to refill at the time of recent oil change. Today I bought a gallon of Rainex wiper fluid. By pouring about 15% of the bottle, the tank got filled!!

Can any one think of any issue? If so, how to resolve it?
(someone told me that the line could be filled with air as it was empty)

I would also check the rear wipers fluid sprayer. Don't want to have to come back for a 2nd trip if both are not working.

The MDX's spray nozzles are notorious for needing an extra long pull on the stalk for the first spray. Hold it a bit longer and you should get a spray. If not, then yep, check for clogs.

Same problem, mine failed during snow storm over weekend. Had to pull over every few mile to pour the fluid on the glass to wipe... made appointment this week at dealer car is less than 1 year old, 15k miles..

Both front and rear is not dispersing, intermittently. I hear it pump but nothing. Thought it was empty but even my old car had a dummy light if it was empty. Ran to the store and bought a bottle of washer fluid, it was near full. Rear also randomly not spraying

Both side not working

Only right side works

Only left side works

This happened to me repeatedly on another new car I had purchased. I grew tired of the dealer telling me they couldn’t replicate the problem, I bought a new washer pump on eBay, undid the inner fender, drained the fluid out and put in a new pump. End of problem,. Replac3 the pump.

rsutoratosu, I suspect you've got some crappy washer fluid in there that is freezing up in the reservoir and hoses. My old mechanic used cheap fluid (possibly just diluted it with water) and it typically froze up when I traveled to colder climates.

@Samual1 - I've read in other forums that rain-x fluid can gel at the bottom of your washer reservoir and can lead to clogs.
@rsutoratosu - since your clog happened in the cold, I agree with @NVAKeith... the fluid is likely frozen in the lines.

Possiblity, I use the same one on my lexus rx450 and it has no problem.. also my z4 uses the same fluid.. All from walmart. Only MDX is "freezing' up. But it doesn't explain why it works and 20 min later ,it stops working and switch to left or right, Right now the driver side is strong, passenger size is weak. It'll randomly switch between the two or not work. Dealer is tomorrow, Ill see what they say

I’ve used rainex since it’s inceptio with no issues, we have a home here and in Maine where it was as low as -25 over the weekend no gelling. Your problem would seem to be the pump.
