A spec rear bumper
the dealership is going to replace my 2014 mdx rear bumper and i asked them if they can replace it with the A spec bumper. Wondering if anyone else has done it and whether the a spec exhaust system can fit as well!! |
Why do you want to do that? Just because?

I find the lack of exhaust tips in its appearance very declawed for a performance SUV. I like the way the A spec looks in the rear and would love to get it if possible. I will ask the dealership tomorrow about it. |
exhaust system comparison:
https://www.acurapartswarehouse.com/...fler-3-5l.html https://www.acurapartswarehouse.com/...e-muffler.html Comparing the 2014 to 2018 and then to 2019 a spec model exhaust systems, looks quite different from the muffler on back, while the 2018 to 2019 a spec only has the 2 exhaust tips being different. so the 2017+ models only have to change minor items such as the rear bumper garnish which accommodates the exhaust tips and 2 exhaust tips and that's it! totaling up just the exhaust parts from 2014 to 2019 would be $760 in total without knowing the compatibility of the mounting hooks. perhaps it would be wiser to have an muffler shop mock up a dual exhaust system rather than to buy oem a spec parts and hope they fit. 2014 to 2019 rear bumper change (if compatible) would be in the $810 ball park. since dealership is offering to replace my bumper for free, i will see whether we can work out a deal to make the 2019 bumper work with me. |
