shock dampers, how long do they last?

Hey guys, my 2014 MDX tech sh-awd with 46k miles is starting to feel more wallowy when i drive. this became more apparent when I had the loaner 2019 mdx tech sh-awd for a week. the loaner only had 300 miles on it and it felt solid on the road with good grip on the road and planted feeling in turns. Over the weekend with 360 mile drive on windy/rougher roads, the car felt more and more bouncy and almost seasick. I am wondering if it is the difference between the 2014-15 vs 2016+ models or its the shocks wearing out. How fast does your shocks wear out for those that had it replaced already and how many of you are on the original shocks and still going strong on year and mileage? would be nice to know. if my shocks are indeed the culprit, then I might be looking into the BC coilovers.

Inspect all 4 shocks for signs of oil leakage. I am at 72K miles on my '14 and my left front shock is starting to leak.

Do you feel the suspension going as well with the leak recently or been deteriorating for a few 10s of thousands of miles now?

Shocks/struts can fail anywhere from 100 to 100,000 miles. Like anything mechanical it has a designed life, but lots of things can effect that life. Like a piece of grit in a seal and they can fail within just a few miles. Inspect and replace as necessary regardless of miles.

no solid answer, depend what roads/condition you drive on.
