Real world mileage MDX 2014
Do we have this thread? If so, please move this post then.
Post your real-world mileage of MDX 2014.
Just finished 133 miles highway trip. Mostly highway: 60-80 miles. 5 miles of city driving.
28.3 mpg!!
The maximum was 28.6 mpg during this trip. Mine is AWD, and there were 2 adults/2 kids and moderate luggages. This is my first SUV/MDX, so can't compare to other cars. But, 28mpg on highway is really great! My C230 (very small car) was only 27 mpg on highway.

what is the avg mph recorded by the MID for the trip? telling us a range or a percentage isn't all that accurate.
my 2G can get 23-24mpg, avg 67 mph for 300 miles. 2 adults, my lead foot, hitch rack with two race bikes and gear in the cargo area.

I have been averaging between 27.5 and 28.5 myself as well. I have refilled my tank three (3) times now since I have owned it. Admittedly, I have used the MID AVG miles per gallon indicator but have not performed the 'math at the pump.' I will do that next to compare.

2014 SH-AWD Tech package, just finished a 1000+mile trip from Cleveland, OH to rolling hills of WV, VA and to NC and back (mostly on 77S). Used all 93+ fuel. There were periods of heavy rain during travel in WV. All in all it averaged to 25.6mpg with a high of 25.9mpg when driving on cruise in flatter portions on OH. Was driving moistly in Normal mode, there were a few hrs I was in sport mode, not sure it had any bearing on mpg

First break-in trip starting with only 200 miles on the clock - mostly 65-70 mph with mostly highway but a touch of city - 29.2 mpg over the entire 837 mile trip according to the MID. Unbelievable! Next trip was 1100 miles all interstate driving 75-80 mph with MID for entire trip showing 28.2 mpg. I'm not hardly believing the mileage this new MDX is able to achieve. The MID should be a bit more accurate over entire trips like this and even if it's still showing a bit higher than hand calculating, this mileage is incredible. My former 2011 MDX got around 21 over the same type trips. Disclosures: 91 octane, FWD, mostly Central Plains driving. I did notice during individual fill-ups that I got better mileage without the cruise on. Seems it really stomps on the gas to maintain speed going up hills and rises.

I just checked it as am surprised it says only 53 mph. I got to my destination on the 1100 mile trip and drove around town for 3 days which would lower the speed but 80% of the miles on that trip were interstate highway at 70-75 with periods of 80 mph. So, I'm not really sure how much I trust the average speed on the MID. I'll pay more attention to that aspect on future trips.

I got 28.0 MID-mpg with mine using the B-trip computer, cruising on the Interstate, level ground (Missouri River floodplain south of Omaha) at 70 mph over a distance of about 70 miles. That's with about 800 miles on the machine at the time, AWD/Tech. 91 octane, between 90 and 95 degrees F (so, A/C).

An experienced mechanic has informed me that 87 regular could in many cases be a higher octane than 91 premium because of how long the premium has sat in the station's tanks. Most stations sell multiples of regular compared to premium and this mechanic claims the gas is fresher. Also, how do you know that premium is actually coming out of the premium pump? Mixups in filling the station's tanks have and can be happening--deliberate or not.

Yikes... Don't states test octane ratings? This is why I go only to Shell

Just back from a 2087 mile trip through Kansas, Colorado, and Utah. Mostly interstate @ 75mph with a few hundred miles of city and mountain passes and crosswinds included. Set trip B gauge with full tank at beginning and ended with a trip total average mpg of 28.8! I then hand calculated total gallons filled during the trip divided into the 2087 miles and came up with 27.2 mpg.
So, the MID appears to register a bit high but I'm still thrilled with the hand calculated 27.2 at the speeds I was driving.
