Rapid deceleration on letting go gas pedal ?

I have a new Acura MDX AWD 2014 with around 500 miles. From day one, I have noticed that when driving at lower speeds of 30-40 miles, if I remove my foot from the gas pedal, the SUV decelerates rapidly; more so than the nissan altima I had before. It simply does not feel natural, especially while making a turn, when it slows down to almost stop and I have hit the gas again midway to complete the turn.

Is this something which MDX does to save the brakes and do you have similar experience, or is it just me?

At that speed the transmission is downshiftng into 2nd. It just the tranny logic. At higher speeds its programed to coast as long aas possible for mpg.
