Question Is the OEM Remote Start Key Fob the same size as the regular OEM Key Fob?

Just like the title says, I'm wondering if the OEM remote start key fob and the regular OEM key fob are the same size? Thanks in advance.

The OEM key fob with the remote start is longer than the regular OEM key fob (w/o the remote start). The width and depth seems to be the same but the remote start fob is longer to accommodate the extra button for the remote start.

Hmm. Could someone post a photo of them side by side?

Here is a quick pic. The "remote start" fob is also slightly thicker.

Thanks rgr. I am thinking about getting the remote start added and am just trying to decide between Acura and Viper.

What did you decide?

If you went third-party, would it have warranty considerations? Would it be able to lock/unlock still or would you need to keep both on you?

Do third party remote-starts let you do it with a phone app, by any chance?

I just picked up our MDX today and got the remote starter option (worth every penny here in Ottawa!). Very pleased and surprised to get the two regular fobs and two additional fobs with the built-in remote start. Nice to have the back-up fobs just in case.

I`m happy with the OEM remote start, and definitely prefer having it all on one fob.

I'm looking at getting the Drone Mobile put in on my wife's 2014 MDX Tech. Installer says it will allow her to use existing remotes for everything and cell for remote start/unlock/trunk.

Will let you know how it goes (next week, likely.)

I had the OEM remote starter installed and I am very happy with it. It works from a good distance and has a green light to let me now the car has started. Plus only one remote!

I do have the OEM starter key as it comes with the elite in Canada. Having used it for a while now, I would have prefered an aftermarket choice like viper.
