Missing "server route" option 2017 SH-AWD Advance

Hello everyone,

First of all hello to everyone and thanks for all the information that is available to peruse, which helped me purchase a used 2017 SH-AWD Advance last month. I am still going through all the options and learning things about the car as I drive it. One thing that has caught my eye is the lack of "server route" under route preference. I do have the AcuraLink subscription, but the option is not there at all (the last entry is U-turn). When looking at the navigation manual for 2017 MDX, it doesn't mention it either (pg. 56 and 57). But, the navigation manual for 2017 Hybrid, does list the server route option.

I wasn't aware that this feature has been removed from 2017 non-hybrid models in the US. I took the car in for service and I was told that the option is not available. It was available on the 2016, and is also available on 2018, but 2017 non-hybrid do not have it, which is unfortunate if it truly is the case. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just looking through the '18 navigation manual I do see that it says not available on all models. However, for which models the sever route is not available it does not say.You say service told you it was not available on your vehicle. Did they not say why? Sometimes I don't think they have the answers. Have you tried contacting Acura client services for their 2 cents?

The disclaimer also exists on the 2017 hybrid. The technician didn't state as to why the option doesn't exist. They noted that on my invoice as well. I am planning on calling Acura client services later this afternoon to see what they have to see. I find it perplexing Acura has decided to omit the feature from the highest trim SH-AWD (2017) and make it only available on the Hybrid (2017). Anyone else with a 2017 care to check whether the option exists?

I apologize for the repeat reply, but it seems I can't edit my previous reply.

I just chatted with Acura customer relations, and they stated the exact same thing that the server route options is not available on my vehicle. I believe all he did was consult the navigation manual listed on Acura's website.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Unfortunately, I don' even see the server route option under "U turn". The last setting I see is U turn. The navigation manual (online) doesn't have it listed either.

My 2017 SH-AWD Advance lacks that option, as well. I have no idea why it was removed.

What level of AcuraLink subscription do you have? You need at least the 2nd level for this, I thihnk.

As an aside, I find it interesting that my 2006 MDX with NAV and RES shows me all three route options when I enter a destination, but in my 2014 Elite, I need the AcuraLink subscription to get the three different routes. Why, Acura? Also, on the 2006, I can enter destinations while in motion.

I have the Prestige Level (level 3). The option should exist regardless of the AcuraLink subscription, and should preclude one from using it if the proper AcuraLink subscription is not present. The server route option has completely been eliminated from the navigation settings menu. Even the navigation manual for non-hybrid model does not allude to it.

Here is a link to the Hybrid navigation manual: http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/p...BTRX1717OM.PDF
Link to non-hybrid navigation manual: http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/p...BTZ51717NV.PDF

Look on page 56 of each manual, you will see that the non-hybrid model does not list the server route.

Thanks.

Hmm... did Acura do away with server routing now with HD Traffic instead of Acuralink Traffic? Or maybe it's just included now but done without connecting to a server?

The Canadian navigation manual for a 2017 shows the option. That's not to say that it actually exists on a Canadian car, but it's definitely in the manual.
