MDX prices paid and deals

Does anybody actually purchase an MDX? It seems only info available in on leases. I am thinking of purchasing outright and wonder if there are others and would they share info on their deal? Also, I notice on the 19 RDX forums that people are getting a $1000 loyalty discount. Anybody know if that also applies to the MDX? Thanks

Haven't seen anyone post any 2019 deals as of yet. Here's a link to what folks were paying for 2018's. It is somewhat dated. I also have not heard of any loyalty cash. I would be surprised to see incentives on a new model due to demand and decent press.

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-mdx-...s-paid-967097/

You could also check somewhere like TrueCar.

Thanks. I was looking for either 2018 or 2019 info. But I think the 19s just hit the dealers a few days ago from what I’ve read.

That link is only for the Sport Hybrid which I’m not interested in. Should have been more specific. Surprised there wasnt a prices paid for the regular MDX. That’s why I started the thread. Also, have learned the loyalty thing may only apply to the RDX.

OP, test drive the SH and the 3.5 back to back before you decide. The SH is significantly better in terms of power delivery, handling and fuel economy (when you need it). If you're buying, and you don't need to tow, the SH is well worth the $1,500 premium in my opinion.

Pretty sure I can get a 2018 reg tech for around $45k so it would be probably about $3k plus more. Besides I have a boat I need to tow. But thanks for the input. If I absolutely had no reason to to tow now or in the future I would definitely be interested in the SH.

We just purchased a 18 awd tech white/espresso for $46000. It had msrp of $52k due to the $695 protection package 1(mud guard, wheel lock, cargo tray) installed. There was no way I'd get that much of a discount on a Hybrid model here in Southern California since there are not many of them out there and the most I'd get down to would be maybe $50k.

18 SH-AWD/ADV/ENT, MSRP: 59650, negotiated price $51403. There are deals to be had on 18's, just need to shop around. Where are you located?

MSRPs look like they went up about $1,500 for the 2019s versus the 2018s

I’m in Chicago area. Dealer has 2019s on the ground now and the Tech AWD is about $1000 higher than last years.

There are a few scattered around the central NC region as well. Saw one (ASPEC) on the dealership floor in Greensboro yesterday. Really not digging the red leather!

If 19s are on he ground you should be able to get even sweeter deal on the 18s. The best discount are negotiated at the end of the month (+2 days). In other words the 2nd of the following month is the dealer's end of the month, so today was their end of the month day. Don't go to showroom, get in contact with an internet sales manager via email and start your negotiations. In fact heat up 2-3 dealers in the area and have them bid against each other. But first go to Truecar.com and check what was the lowest price paid for the same car/model/trim in your area and nationwide. That'll give you an idea how low can you go when starting your negotiations. Tech AWD isn't a rare car so you should be able to get it at a hefty discount. Good hunting!

No packaging required. I was offered 40,800 plus tax and tags with no add ons or hidden fees . But i added a bunch of assessories... fog lights, berlina rims/ tire, all season, trunk tray, mud guards for addition 4 k installed( originally quoted 6500). Price matched most with curry acura parts discount. 46,900 was my final out the door.

As I posted in the MDX lease prices thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-mdx-.../#post16281384

Just took delivery of a 2018 MDX Sport Hybrid with Advance Package in Modern Steel Metallic/Ebony.

It was 1 of 4 remaining in the Chicagoland area (there were 2 Modern Steel Metallic/Ebony and 2 Crystal Black Pearl/Ebony)

Lease options I was interested in:
2018 MDX Sport Hybrid with Advance Package (Modern Steel Metallic/Ebony)
3 years (36 months), 12K miles/year (36K miles total) or 3 years (36 months), 15K miles/year (45K miles total)
$0 down, no trade, top tier credit
MSRP: $59,145 (includes $995 destination charge)
Negotiated Vehicle Price: $50,714 (includes $1500 in Acura purchase flex cash and $2950 in Acura lease flex cash unadvertised incentives)
% off MSRP: 14.25%
Total Acura flex cash unadvertised incentives received: $4450 (this is the maximum amount of purchase and lease flex cash unadvertised incentives in the current Acura program)
Money Factor: 0.00035 (0.84% APR)
Residual Value: $31,938.30 (54% of MSRP) or $30,755.40 (52% of MSRP)
Monthly Payment: $617.30 or $652

I went with the 3 years (36 months), 15K miles/year (45K miles total) for $652/month.

2018 SH-AWD w/Texh

My dealer has offered a 2018 Sh-AWD w tech for 43,750. Seems pretty good, based on TrueCar and other reseal, but I’m interested in what you think.

He also mentioned one’d he had a test drive model (same specs) with 3K miles on it. What kind of discount should I expect/ask for for that one?

thanks!

That is an excellent price-i would take the new one and pass on test drive model it likely was driven hard by many drivers.

Excellent; thanks for the reassurance. I had felt prettt good about it, but it helps to hear from someone else!

We are going with the new one in Blue and Graystone. I wish I could get parchment with the Blue, but I’m sure this will be nice too. Just a change from our black/parchment TSX.

Congrats. I love the blue, but the Mrs. didn't. I actually think the blue would look hot matched with the espresso leather.

Thanks!! After borrowing my MIL’s Lexus, I’m thrilled to have an Acura again. That SUV was boring as hell. I may need a mom mobile, but I still want to have fun driving!

Taking it on a long drive tomorrow and can’t wait.

Anyone purchase a 2019 AWD advance with Entertainment that you can share pricing on?

I'm currently working on a deal for a 19 AWD Advance with Entertainment with 3 local dealers and a few out of state dealers as well. Looking at TrueCar I should be able to get their "Market Avg" price of $57,460 which is just under invoice of $57,638. Everyone's initial offer was around $58k so now it's pitting them against one another to see who wants to separate themselves from the pack. I'm in MN.

I see TrueCar says there are a few people who purchased for under $55k which would be phenomenal but I'm not holding my breath. I'm telling them that I'll be purchasing b4 the end of the month and if they can put together a deal for $55k that I'll bypass the other dealers and sign a purchase agreement with them but no idea just how much they want the sale.

It would seem that $57k is about the most I should want to pay while a good deal would be 55k-56k and 54k or lower would be an amazing deal. Has anyone bought a 19 AWD advance with Entertainment that can report what prices you saw?

If you are purchasing, there should be up to $475 in an unadvertised dealer cash incentive.

If you are leasing, there should be up to $2725 in an unadvertised dealer cash incentive.

If leasing, the total unadvertised dealer cash incentives would be $475 + $2725 = $3200.

Dealers can pass zero to all of the unadvertised dealer cash incentives on to you.

All dealers pay invoice for the car. You want to get as much of the incentives as you can, along with as much holdback as you can.

This is how you can purchase or lease for well under the invoice price.

Good luck!

I'm still negotiating but for purchase right now a lot of dealers are saying 57k is their "lowest" but I got 1 lease quote for 55k. Of course after they say it's their "lowest" they say they'll try to beat anyone's offer so it's not their lowest.

I've got a few more cards to play so we'll see tomorrow what the best offer is.

I was hoping for 55k for purchase (not lease) and would sign purchase agreement for that amount but no one has stepped up yet.

Invoice for 2019 MDX SH-AWD Advance with Entertainment Package is $56,342 + $995 destination = $57,337

$57,337 - $475 purchase unadvertised dealer cash incentive = $56,862.

Holdback is $1201, so assuming they give all of it to you = $55,661.

So, hoping for $55K for purchase is not being realistic. You may be able to get to around $56K if you are lucky.

Are you a Costco member?

If not, the $60 annual fee will easily be made up by the discount (or at least the bargaining chip) on a car. I joined and got a ridiculous price quoted on a Toyota Tacoma in Orlando, FL that I brought to my local dealer, and he matched it. Super-easy, no negotiating necessary.

Well worth the membership fee.

Apparently you aren't familiar with how negotiations go. If I tell them 55k they come back with something higher. I'm not expecting to see 55k on purchase (I have on lease though), I'm fully expecting they take 55k and come back with something higher. However if instead I told them 56k they'd come back with 57k. 55k at least has the possibility they come back with 56k.

For purchase it looks like 57k is the lowest anyone will go, which is almost $700 under invoice of $57,638. I was presented an offer to place a new order for $56k but would require waiting another 3-4 months, which I'm not sure is worth $1k to me. So there must not be any kick backs or other hidden incentives considering everyone is very consistent at $57k being the point where they are "losing money".

On the lease side however I did get an offer for $55.3k which aligns with the lower end pricing on TrueCar.

I know it's sort of last minute, but I am picking up an A-Spec MDX tomorrow and have a quick question. Normally I buy my cars, but I can get a better discount if I lease. Is there anything I should do to protect myself from getting screwed at the end of the lease if I'm planning to buy it out at the end? Should I be mindful of any fees that are thrown in by dealers that I don't have to pay? I don't know if laws vary by state buy I'm in IL. Also, I have a trade-in; should I and can I take the money for the trade or have them include it in the deal to further lower the payments? If I plan to buy it out, does residual value matter or not really? Thanks for the help.

If I plan to buy it out, does residual value matter or not really? Thanks for the help.
I did the math comparing a 3 yr 7,500 mile lease where I purchased at the end of the lease for cash to a 4 year loan where I finance 27k at 2.49% and purchase was a few hundred dollars cheaper than leasing. If purchasing the price was 57k and leasing was 55.3k.

So at least in this scenario total cost has purchasing less expensive (although I'm putting a lot down) while monthly payments are cheaper with leasing. If you plan on buying at end of lease you'll have to come up with over 30k in cash (you buy it for residual value) and if you finance for 4 years then you'll be making payments on the vehicle for 7 years. Something to consider

I picked up a 2018 SH-AWD Tech Service Loaner (Modern Steel Metallic / Ebony) with 4k miles on it for $42,700. It was originally listed for $43,995 but went in ready to buy with a clean trade that I got $11k for (out of a private party value of 12k). I had Costco backing, so I did not pay any dealers fees outside of the standard tax, title, reg.

I am looking into the 2019 MDX AWD w/tech and best price I have gotten from a dealer is $45,995. Any feedback? Seems like a solid price to me.

Go to true car and it will tell you invoice pricing as well as average price people in your area are paying for that vehicle
