mdx 2017 jewel headlights wiring.?
 

Hey Acura people,

I bought myself a set of jewel eyes headlight units from a 2017-2018 Acura MDX.

Could anybody tell me what wires go in to the ballast of this light unit.?
I found the older models have a 6 pin connector and also found what wire is what.

Like ground is most left upper pin
Feed DRL
Feed low beam
Feed High beem.

Only the new type has a 12 pin connector on the ballast and cant find what pin is what.

If anyone of you have this info than please let me know.

Don’t want to blow the ballast by feeding 12 volts to the from pin.

Uhhhh....Acura LEDs have ballasts?

Its something.. like a ballast, prob controller.. i can't find it in acura parts but its ACURA 33109TZ5A511

I dont know if you got help or not. I was doing some research on the same lights but for another car. i went to Acura for the pigtails that go into that connecter but they "wouldnt find it" in the computer. Maybe it was because I was pretty clear about not having one at all just the lights. He probably thought I stole them lol i digress. I ended up going the more expensive route and sourced it from findpigtails.com. You wont find it under MDX but you can find it under TLX. They are the same igniter. Ill post a link underneath in case you or someone else needs it. I then went into the wiring diagram to figure out the pinout. After that I found a cheap HB4 & HB3 pigtails and spliced them together to be able to plug them into the originial wiring of my car. I suggest you do the same. You can look up the wire diagram with the VIN number of your car and be able to do the same i would assume. I hope its helpful.

Trying to upgrade from 2014 MDX headlights to 2019 MDX headlights
 

Hi group, I am new to this group and was wondering if someone could help me with this upgrade. So I have a 2014 Acura MDX and wanted to upgrade the frond end to a 2019. I got lucky enough to buy it from someone who totaled their new MDX and sold me the hood, the fenders, bumper with grille and the headlights. I thought it was going to be plug and play for the headlights, but the plug on the 2019 has a 12 pin connector. Can anyone offer me any suggestions on how to proceed with successfully connecting the headlights?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

perhaps you need the suggested pigtails in the thread is what you need?
