Lights

Is it just me? Just about every time I drive my 2017 MDX at night I get flashed, as if my hi beams are on...But they're not, I even shut off the auto hi-beam option. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes happen to me all the time on road where there are no street lights. The levels are much higher as it is a SUV. Newer RDX have that issue too where other flashes as I drove my friend RDX.

The output is very intense and being caught below the cutoff is near blinding. I feel sorry for anyone coming head on as we crest hills.
I had a similar issue with a 55watt retrofit in my truck, it was just too much.

I just took a trip where It became a major problem. Does anybody know where the DIY instructions for adjusting the beam can be found?

If still under warranty, ask your dealer to check whether the headlight is aimed too high. They should fix it for you without any issues.

I think it is from the compact size of the lighting element and smaller lens that makes the almost pin point light look more intense to on-lookers compared to more disperse HID or Halogen headlights around the same lumens. Factor in the person in-front of you has 6-10 pinpoint mini light about the brightness as the sun for each in their face compared to just 2 HIDs lights of old. I have LED bike lights and it doesn't matter even at the lowest setting, I blind on-coming riders all the time. I have to turn off my lights or cover with my hand on bike trails.

Funny enough though, the IIHS deems the 2017 MDX's headlights to be sub-optimal and not far reaching enough. So the directional nature of the LEDs is just an issue (creates that big bright spot for people in your direct line of travel).

Oh yes, you're not the only 1. I get flash all the time. The incident that I had this car was facing me head on turning left from the intersection. He or she was literally HI-BEAM me the whole time I waited for the left turn light, and of course I'd to HI-BEAM back. It was funny.

Probably flashed less in the MDX than in the 2003 TL with HID's. I have two of these bars that I never installed on the rally car (because HID Hella Rally 4000's). I need to find a discrete way to mount these in the MDX grill.

Oh boy, same thing happened to me and it's still happening. Kind of annoying. Wish there was a fix

I have a 2014, and I get flashed all the time. When I pass someone and then get in front of them, they flash, and keep on their high beams for a long time (usually until I am far in front of them.) I don't think these lights can be adjusted much lower than they are, but it would be a good thing to ask the dealer...if you can trust them.

The other night I was leaving a restaurant and had to cross the first lane of a boulevard to make a left turn.

It was difficult to see where to make the left turn because of poor side coverage of the leds in my 2017 MDX Advance. I don't recall having this problem with the HIDs of my 2013 RDX.
