Keyhole Break In

Keyhole Break In
Good evening forum,
This afternoon my wife's 2017 MDX was broken into, with the thieves taking off with a few of her credit cards. Luckily her and the kids are ok, Initially we though that she may have forgotten to lock the car, but after doing a visual inspection I noticed that the keyhole was slightly mangled and the Acura key will no longer fit into it. Has anyone heard of or seen where a foreign object or lock picks would be able to open that lock?
Thanks!
Mike

I live in Houston, Texas....and break-ins and robberies are getting worse! dont mean to blame the victim here at all, just always gotta be on point by watching surroundings and keeping valuables out of sight/with you.
Did y'all contact the authorities?

Aside from looking in the window and seeing stuff laying there, the bad guys will watch you as you drive up to watch you hide stuff. Accordingly, if you're going to leave something in the center cubby or glovebox (or under the hatch cover) , then you should place the items there well before you park.
Tinted windows can actually be a bad idea as dark windows may make the crooks think that you've got something to hide.

We were seeing break in at park and rides. Turned out to be the security guard there calling his buddies when it was safe to come around. Thieves know that someone going into a water park with the kids not carrying a purse probably left it in the car.

I thought the Acura car alarm would go off if you open the door without the key or fob? Did jamming a screw driver into the key hole disable the car alarm?
