Jewel Headlights at night... Quality?

For those of you who have owned your MDX for some time, how is the quality of the Jewel Lights at night?

Are they brighter than normal LEDlights? (My question is: Are they on par or better than other LED lights from BMW, Mercedes, etc.)

What about the "Light Spread" or how wide the illumination field is?

considering that Acura is one the leading contenders in headlight innovations, why would they go a step backwards if the jewel headlight DID NOT IMPROVE?

Good Point. I just wanted some first hand feedback from buyers.

They're not meant to improve output, but theoretically it will save gas by using less electricity, lighter, and longer service life. They will not outperform a good HID projector/bulb. I highly doubt they're 3200+ lumens a side.

The lights are absolutely amazing, it is as close to natural daylight as you get and far superior than HIDs. The also illuminate 75ft farther than HIDs.

The light pattern is very uniform and controlled, have had no problems with oncoming traffic. Spread is good and on par with other HIDs

I can't comment about how they compare to BMW or MB LEDs as I've never owned those cars with LEDs. I've owned a lot of cars with HIDs and these are far superior. Definitely a step in the right direction even without the advantages of longevity and lower power consumption / fuel savings

One of the best lighting I've seen. I do get some highbeams from the oncoming traffic. Color temperature is perfect for me and really makes the car stand out.

^^^^^

Due to the much higher headlight location on the SUV, vans, and trucks, it is not usually for them (not just the MDX) to get "highbeams" from oncoming traffic.

I think they are great. The high beams are like lasers.

Perfect Illumination...

Owned mine for a month now and the MDX's lighting schema is absolutely superb! It's clear, focused, long range and very, very attention getting getting - especially the daylight running lights which don't overwhelm but make an elegantly, bright statement...

Coming from a few cars with different HID/Xenon system. The LED are the brightest I've noticed.

I would be curious how the headlight perform in snowy, rainy, fog, and wet road conditions compared to the old HIDs? Do they do a better job illuminating to the side just as well to the front? I live in NM and moonlight and headlights can be your only light at night. Having good side illumination comes in handy for when a 1000lbs Elk decides to run across the road when you are driving +75 mph in the middle of nowhere.
