Incident Icons 2014 - 2018 NAV missing

I suspect this affects every one with a late MDX and NAV. Traffic Incident icons are missing on the map. Traffic is there in color but incidents never come up on my 2015. Did not come up on my 2014 either. Have Acura Link and it is active. Phone calls to Acura have not resolved it. If you have a late MDX and no traffic icons post here and let Acura Link know. Maybe if enough of us call (hit Acura Care overhead button) maybe they will figure out why not. They advertise the feature and we paid for it in the price of the car. So far on MDX other forum no one has been able to find a traffic icon ever on their NAV. I am still waiting for someone in USA to say hey it works on mine and here is how. Dealer said have to have XM but since 2014 on MDX Acura says no - it is part of Acura link. A MDX owner with NAV and XM/Sirius said they didn't fix it for him. We need traffic incident icons for the traffic feature to be worthwhile.

mine says show icons "all". Traffic colors show but icons for TRAFFIC INCIDENTS (Accidents) never do. Standard map icons show like ATM's, gas stations, exits etc if I turn them on. Also has 2018 update disk

Usually a setting to enable/disable certain icons like atms, schools, etc. I will check next time and see.

I have heard from a Canadian owner who gets incidents. He upgraded to a dealer installed 4LTE module upgrade instead of the original CDMA. There was another post somewhere I found thru Google of another Canadian owner who had trouble with NAV which then began working when Acura upgraded it to 4LTE. CDMA is pretty much gone in most of Canada and on its way out here soon. I am hoping this doesn't turn into a you have to upgrade to 4LTE module in the electronics instead of the CDMA it came with. Frankly I do not know what a 2014 or 2015 US MDX SH-AWD Tech package uses for a data connection as to the NAV unit,

So they do listen. We are headed home tonight and for the first time since May 2017 as traffic slows on the freeway an incident pops up. Our calls and posts caused something. Incidents show as of tonight. The list still showed congestion about 5 or 6 times before we could scroll down to the incident - we were only 1.2 miles from it so it should have been near the top but we are making headway. Hallelujah. Thank you Acura staff.

wait - I don't see how this suddenly happened without a software update to your car unless it was a central system change. You say first time since May 2017 - I thought you have a 2014 or 2015 MDX

You can just yank the side panel off by the driver's right leg. The telematics unit is mounted to the back of the panel. Check the part # to see if it's a CDMA or an LTE unit. I would think (bope) that with CDMA out in Canada and soon to be out in the States (?), that Acura would be putting LTE units in any of the newer model years.

I had a 2006 RL SH-AWD w/NAV until May 2017 when I traded it on a 2014 MDX SH-AWD Tech w/NAV.that was totaled in 10-2017. I have a 2015 MDX SH-AWD Tech w/NAV now that replaced the 2014. The incidents worked fine on the RL. They never showed up on either MDX until the other day. I've called Acura Link numerous times on this as well as posted here and the MDX forum. Only that one incident showed up - none others since then. There was a nearby sigalert incident when we left work yesterday but it did not show on the MDX NAV. That does not necessarily mean that it was not there when we left work because NAV usually takes about 5 - 10 minutes to populate once the car is started, That has been ongoing since the RL and why we look at sigalert before we leave work. By the time we have gone 10 minutes were are pretty much committed to the 40 - 60 minute route home other than getting off and running surface streets, which we have done when the freeway was closed ahead and it showed in the RL NAV.
