Does acura provide an extended warranty for the hybrid components? If not, will you recommend purchasing these in addition?

The Hybrid has a lot of components that are already covered past the basic 4yr/50K mile warranty, some are covered 7/70 and some 8/100. I don't think you really get much more coverage of Hybrid components with an extended warranty. Check you Hybrid warranty book, It's toward the back on page 40 that lists the extra coverage.

Bluepill

In the early days of hybrids, both Honda and Toyota would replace main battery packs that failed beyond stated warranty. This was considered "Goodwill" and handled on a case-by-case basis. I do not know if they still have any such policy.
