Hello. New owner of a new 2015 Acura MDX
Hello guys, joining the team with a problem on my 1 day old MDX. I went to the dealer late at night to buy my car and didnt notice a dent on the door before i drove it home. It was dark and both me and my wife were tired and wanted to go home.
This morning I noticed a dent right on the edge of the drivers door. I called the dealership and they told me to come in tomorrow because the manager was not there today.
What are some of my options? I dont want to repair a brand new car and PDR doesnt work if the dent is on the edge. I doubt they will give me a new car since thats the only black/black they had.
Please help!

I'm not even sure if the dealership is going to do the repair for free since they will likely claim that the dent was not there when you took the car from the dealership. And I think you're right--paintless dent removal may not be an option with the location of that dent.

Take it to the dealer and give them the opportunity to make it right. Unfortunately they are under no real obligation to fix the dent as there is no way of knowing/proving when the dent occured. With any luck the dealer will want to earn your trust and loyalty and help you out. Situations like these are why my dad always told me to never buy a car in the rain or dark. But I completely understand the excitement of the moment and how hard it is not to just hop in and drive away in your new baby!
When we helped our friend take delivery of his black Edge, we each had a small LED flashlight and we went over every square inch of the exterior of that car. It was a sunny day but they were nice enough to park it under an awning which made it so much easier to see flaws with the contrast of light to dark. It took us over an hour but we found five or six finish flaws that they addressed while he was finishing up the paperwork. Quick final inspection afterwards showed everything to be perfect and he drove home happy.

Paintless dent repair guy said the dent was not 100% fixable since it was on the edge of the door. The only way to fix it would be to send it to a body shop which i didnt wanna do on a new car. He was able to make it look less noticeable with a hammer but now the metal looks wavy?
Im gonna leave it as is for now but im trying to work out some type of compensation with the dealer. Gonna try to get a discount on accessories.

However, painting and matching your whole door panel will send RED FLAGS when you sell it or trade it. Been there, done that.
In other words, if you pay for body shop, then you lose BOTH ways...you lose now AND you will lose even more when you resell it. Used car dealers slash your resale value a lot if they find that your whole door/panel has been re-painted...and they ALWAYS find out because they have a nifty device to measure paint thickness...and they go around your car checking it.
