Gap in the back of seat?

Gap in the back of seat?

Hi.
I just bought a new MDX 2017 AWD Tech and I found some area of the back of the driver seat was covered neither leather nor cloth. I contacted the dealer and they said 'that is on every mdx and it is just the design of it not damage or anything like that.' I need some data point to see if it is really the case. Could you please reply your MDX has 0.7 x 0.7 inches (2 x 2 cm) gap like mine? I can understand there can be some small gap at the corner of the leather finishing, but I suspect it should not be as large as mine. Please see the photos attached.

That's clearly unacceptable in ANY car, let alone a premium crossover costing as much as the MDX does.

Just looked at my 2017 Advance Hybrid MDX, no gap at all

My 2014 Advance SH-AWD doesn't have any leather/carpet/whatever gaps like that.

I would suggest looking at the other similar units in stock at the dealership, I doubt that you will find similar gaps in the other inventory.

Tech and Advance have different leather, so you need to compare to the same trim level (above responses are both Advance).

My 2015 Advance SH-AWD does not have the gaps.

Another deal acknowledged it's bigger than normal. We are waiting for the part. I'll post later how it ends up. Thanks a lot for your help.

Another dealer has fixed it. Now, it looks ok. I can't understand why the dealer I purchased the MDX from denied my request with unreasonable reasons. Thank to all for your help.
