First long trip in 2018 MDX Advance
I am leaving next week for SoCal (San Clemente). I have 425 miles on my 2018 MDX Advance as I've been driving her around like an ole lady to break her in for the first 600 miles per the manual. Anything I should be aware of coming from a 2007 MDX sport? I can't wait to exceed 600 miles so I can drive her and discover what she's all about.... I have 20 inch upgrades tires which I'm not super happy about as the ride is not as smooth as I expected. Which suspension mode is preferred for traveling on an interstate? I am excited but also a bit nervous. Does Acura offer a front bra for these vehicles as I could not find this in the accessories on dealer website.... I've already got one tiny chip on the hood above the front grill.... Argh.....

You can have a “clear” bra installed by any competent tint shop.
the old-school black bras were terrible. Ugly when installed, and they’d actually do more damage to your paint than the rock chips.
otherwise, just drive your MDX. No special break-in period is necessary.
Use the IDS mode that you like most. I typically leave it in normal unless I’m driving “spirited” then I’ll use Sport.

I've used 3M clear bra with UV protection on all three of my Acura starting in 2006. I have the 3M on the painted surfaces on the front end, about 18" up the hood and side fenders, and side mirrors. I also paid extra to put the 3M clear bra on the headlights and fogs to help against UV fading, rock strikes, and road rash. Excellent product for me in the desert southwest sunshine, 75-80 mph interstate speeds, and sandy conditions/tumble weeds when the wind starts to blow.
Wouldn't be a Honda/Acura without hwy road noise. I purchased a set of Bose QC35 wireless noise cancelling headphones on eBay for traveling by air or car. Those thing really reduce constant air and road noise. I sometimes just put them on with noise cancelling on and no music with the passenger seat reclined for my road naps when the wife is driving. It feels like napping in your favorite recliner at home with a message feature. Don't forget to have a small travel pillow because Acura headrests are hard as a rock.

Our '17 MDX Sport Hybrid is a great road trip car. So smooth and quiet and plenty of room for everybody. The Torque Vectoring and adaptive suspension is very good on windy mountain roads. Very reassuring apex out of those tight turns.
I agree, get clear bra on it. We have Xpel on ours, the million of bugs just washes right off with ease after the trip.

Did you guys re tint the rear windows or just left the factory shade?
My tint guy is recommending to tint all 4 to have the UV protection and reduce heat. He says factory is not a tint, just a shade so there is no really UV protection.
