Can anyone explain no remote start from Acuralink?

So the 2019 RDX now has remote start/stop from the acuralink app; but the 2019 MDX does not? Very frustrating from a "premium" brand when chevy, ford, and dodge have this standard.

MDX was designed 5 years ago. RDX is brand new. I’d hope the RDX had some newer features, lol.

And yet the MDX has a 2-way key fob that allows remote start and even provides confirmation the vehicle executed the command. RDX has none of this.

Ive seen the remote start display via Acura Link and it's pretty slow to get the car started. Though the feature of unlocking/locking your car with a app is helpful.

Isn't it easier to just whip out a fob and press a button?

Point is the 2019 Mdx released after 2019 RDX. Already had the app door lock and unlock commands. I assume that the remote start from app is only a matter of opening up the software to allow this but they didn't for 2019 Mdx.

Why would someone want remote start from an app? When it is negative 20 out and you work in a large building so your car is not close enough to use fob.

2019 tech MDX already includes remote start by pushing a button on the key fob free of charge, no subscription and no app.

Are you saying that you added the option to start it via AcuraLink app for the MDX? or do you have the RDX instead of the MDX?

They say that the remote start on the MDX has a range of 300ft

does everyone who has the AcuraLink Connect subscription think it’s worth the cost of roughly $15 a month?

With my '17 MDX, after my trial subscription ended, I upped for 1 year of the AcuraLink Connect. I don't have remote start in the app (but not a big deal), but do find the other features fairly useful. I really like the ability to send an address from my phone to the MDX directly - much easier entry of an address that way. I also like the Status button, because from anywhere I can see whether the car is locked or not, and also whether any of the doors are open or if the alarm was activated. Plus you can locate the car on a map, just to make sure it's not been taken (or towed, god forbid). I'll have to decide next May whether I want to renew for another year, but so far it's been a decently beneficial investment, at least for me.

I honestly don’t think AcuraLink is worth the money. I have a 2019 RDX right now and the app is so laggy. It’ll take 4-5 tries before my engine would even start. You can extend it to extra 10 mins and that’s it. I really wish they would come with the actual key fob with remote starts. I mean, you can still buy it off of Acura, but it’ll be $300 extra. Plus I feel like they’re trying to make money out of you after your free trials are over.

That's my issue with other luxury brands who also offer remote start through a mobile app requiring a subscription. It's just another way to nickel and dime you. The added range would be nice on occasion but not worth the subscription cost to me at least
