Best Trailer Hitch
#2
What about the best color or best oil? "Best" comes down to your own personal preference on cost and aesthetics because all of the hitch options accomplish the same task of hauling and towing. OEM is my best because of how its fully integrated into the rear fascia, but its maybe double the cost of the added-on looking aftermarket options.

Like @jbawden, I too prefer the OEM integrated hitch. Looks like it belongs, adds the transmission cooler, and just works nicely with the vehicle. Pricey, but I like it.

I opted for the Curt aftermarket option for hitch and plug-in wiring controller. About 1/3 the cost and works like a charm. Downside is it sits lower than the OEM setup, but not obtrusively so. But my experience with Acura/Honda OEM hitches is they don't hold up well in NH winters and tend to rust pretty quickly as compared to the Curt ones I've purchased in the past. Here's a pic of the Curt hitch installed. Fine in my view.....

The "best" hitch for the MDX is the OEM hitch, without a doubt. It is a quality piece, with excellent fit/finish.
There are cheaper hitches available, such as the Curt... But they do not look as good, and you give up ground clearance with them.
OEM is the way to go, if you are okay with the price.
