Baby Car Seat Protector
I have a newborn on its way and was wondering what everyone is recommending for baby car seat protectors to protect the leather seats on my '14 MDX? Mainly I am looking for a protector that doesn't crease the leather seats and does not leave a sticky residue. Thanks everyone.

I just ordered a Diono Ultra Mat from Amazon, haven't thrown it in my TL yet but the reviews were much better than the other brands, seems like almost every other one complained about it leaving residue or stains on leather, not as worried about stains since I have black leather but I'm planning on hitting the seat with something like 303 to protect it first.

I have the following in all 3 of my vehicles. We're using it on our new MDX and it fits well. It's the highest rated one on Amazon.

If you go this route, you can get bath sheets which are bigger than towels and you should be able to get them in colors which match your interior.

I have this one and it works pretty well - the Babies R Us version doesn't have the bright blue rubber pieces (they are grey instead), and it has little storage compartments at the bottom -

Years ago when I had little ones, this is exactly what I did. I ran a towel vertically from under the headrest down the seat back and forward over the front of the seat. I then folded up a towel to go under each car seat - to protect against leaving impressions in the seats when the car seat was cinched down in place. I then ran towels across the bottom of the seat and across the seat back. I might be a little anal, but the rear seat was left more or less pristine.

Also keep in mind a number of these seat protectors assume the little one is going to drop or spill something on themselves or right around the seat itself. If you are on a bench seat like in the back of a sedan or SUV, there is plenty of target area for them to use not covered by the seat protectors. This is the reason I went with all the towels covering the entire back seat.

Mine is not that thick that it would prevent indentations. Like NBP04TL4ME mentioned, I have a towel at the bottom of the seat protector to prevent it from leaving any indentation marks. The back towel for me is not needed as the car seat is tall enough to touch the headrest and has a soft cushion on it. It all depends on the car seat as well, whether it's an infant car seat or a toddler one.

If you're worried, to give the leather the best chance, I would remove the car seat from the car on a monthly basis and clean / condition the leather to keep the leather from drying out, generally that helps to allow the leather to return to normal.
