Any news/rumors on when the Full Model Redesign will be out?

I have a '14 MDX Tech and my loan is up in 2018. I'm toying with the idea of possibly trading in my 2014 later this year or early next year and leasing a 2017 model for 3 years to take advantage of all the new tech and goodies... Basically in anticipation of the the FMR coming up. I'm guessing 2019 or 2020 so that's perfect timing.

The alternative is to hold on, pay off the car and wait for the FMR. The additional stuff is just too tempting... leasing probably a 2017 MDX SH-AWD Advance will probably be less than my current monthly.

What do you all think?

2014-2016, same car. 2017-2019 same car again with the new updates. 2020 will be a new model, unless they run it later and into 2021. 6 years is the usual Honda/Acura run, sometimes an extra year gets added.

Would you rather spend the money on a brand new car's deprecation while driving the newest style, then buy another new MDX a few years later or be almost finished with the worst depreciation cycle on the '14, save some $$ once it's paid off, and hold out for the 4G MDX? If you feel the '17 MDX is worth the extra money then go for it! If you're not too impressed, hold off. Really comes down to what you want!

I'd wait for the 4G unless you really can't contain yourself, lol. There really aren't that many differences IMO. What are you most excited about that makes you want to trade already?

I almost held held off for a 2017 back in April when I got my 16, but I wasn't sure about the new grille and there just weren't enough differences to make me wait. If they had changed the infotainment system, I probably would have waited, that was the deciding factor for me.

LuvMyTSX, nothing really earth shattering but just some minor conveniences... I have a Tech model and some of the additional safety features that are standard plus what are added on the Advance (or on the other trims but only on 2017s) like the CMBS and surround- view camera, ventilated seats, power folding mirrors and auto-dimming side mirrors, remote start (specially in winter), adaptive cruise control.

I love my MDX Tech.. and like you said if they changed the infotainment system (specially the resolution of the backup camera), it would be an easier decision.

Thanks for the inputs from all... I have maybe a few months to think. I'm assuming 2020 is the FMR and that's something to consider definitely.

I hear you, it's always a little tempting when they make some nice changes.
