My Acura dealer sent me an email saying my car would be built today, Sunday, May 27th, . Are these guys building cars on a Sunday, much les Memorial Day weekend sounds like another BS story from the dealer. What do you guys think?

Good question. I was given a build date from my dealer which was pretty much spot on. Not sure about them working on the weekend/holiday weekend. You could do some guess work by building your car on Acura.com and look at your specific dealer to see what is in transit. I was able to locate my MDX once the build date was given and saw that it was in transit. They listed it as for sale until I actually got to the dealership to take delivery. They said they had received 5 calls on the ride before I actually got there to take delivery.

No, I did not pay sticker. My problem wasn't the deal/pricing. My issue was timing. I was on the front end of production for '18 hybrid. When I started my search, they had just started production. No one seemed to be willing to "find" the ride for me as there were only a few scattered around the country and nothing in the color combo I was after. I finally found a dealer willing to go the extra mile to earn my business as they say. I impatiently waited for them to do an allocation switch with another dealer, then had to wait for the car to be built. Negotiation occured just as if the vehicle was sitting on the lot. By no means was I going to pay sticker regardless.
