About to pull the trigger on a 2014 MDX

So I've pretty much narrowed down my search between 2 MDXs both 2014s. One has 16k miles for 32,999 the other has 30k miles for 30,720 and both just came off a lease. Unfortunately when I was at the dealership both were in body shop and in the process of being CPOed so I was only able to glance at one of them. Dealer is supposed to call me today or tomorrow. I am leaning towards the one with less miles however, I have a few Qs regarding what I read on the carfax.

1 . The one with 30k miles has 2 recalls listed (one for seatbelts the other AC clutch bolt) however the the one with 16k miles does not mention the recalls. Is this something I would need to bring up and make sure they were addressed?

2. One of them was listed for sale on 7/5 (30k miles) while the other one was listed for sale on 6/01. Why would that one not have been made CPO yet? Is this something of concern?

3.Anything I should know specifically regarding the 2014 vs 2015?

recalls are free. you'll need to check the vin to see if ALL recalls have been performed.

CPO is really just a marketing term made up by Lexus in the 90's. (which means - you need to do your due diligence)

1) Recalls work within specific production ranges, it is possible the one with 16k did not have those issues to begin with.
2) I was under the impression that CPO meant lease return? So does that imply that one is not a lease and a buyback instead? Or possibly too much wrong to fit within the criteria of CPO.
3) Not much changed between 2014 and 2015 except that iirc 2015 got some minor software updates. Not much in terms of hardware updates. Now going back to your two 2014's, I am willing to bet the one with 16k miles is a later build than the one with 30k miles (which would explain the lack of those 2 recalls being performed). This is a good thing because later buillt models within the year will most of the time have big changes performed on the assembly line to fix issues that aren't really repairable later on in some cases until the part(s) fail. So my advice is go for the latest build you can afford. I.e a 2015 over a 2014 or a model with vin number 118000 vs 000540 for example.

From my understanding, early MDX's had some minor issues mostly having to do with the rear struts/shocks as well as some minor electronic glitchy issues.

I suppose that tidbit about VINs makes sense since a VIN look up shows recalls for only one of the vehicles (although it only shows one recall whereas the carfax showed two...). Were those suspension issues fixed for the later 2014 models?

I just traded a 2016 RDX for a 2015 MDX. 24,673 miles at delivery. Forest Mist/Eucalyptus. Very cool color combination for me eye. May not be so for others. Guessing not a lot of this color combination on the road.
Wife wanted her third row seat back (Honda Pilot prior to the RDX) and said find me a nice used MDX. No argument here. I mean I loved the RDX, but was not gonna pass on the opportunity to grab another SHAWD vehicle.
Now I have the Green Giant and the White Whale.

Personally I stayed away from the 2014 under the theory that issues/problems with the 1st year of the gen would be resolved in the 2nd. And stayed away from the 2016 because I want no more of the ZF 9-speed tranny.

I had a 2014 MDX Tech and put in about 32K miles before I turn it in for a 2017 MDX Tech as my 14 lease was up. I had 1 problem and that is the rubber bushing rubbing against the hood when I make a tight left turn. It make a buzzing sound. But I had it fix as it was on the TSB.
Other than that nothing wrong. Yes I kinda of hated the 9 speed tranny on the 17. And it also lags when I shift from Park to Drive. If I just try to shift from P to D and gas it, the car will just jolt or lock up for a few second then its back to normal.
