9 Speed Rough Shift when cold
Have a 2017 MDX and when its been sitting for a while the shifting between 1-2 and 2-3 is intermittently roughy depending on the amount of acceleration. Seems to go away after the transmission warms up.. Just curious if anyone else has this issue or i should bring it in.

I have the hybrid with the 7 speed. I don't have rough shifts when cold, but at 25 - 30 mph it is like a bucking bronco. Doesn't want to shift into 3rd and rpm is around 3K. Hard to keep steady speed on a down hill road and feels like the car jumps back and forth.

My 2017 SH-AWD Tech doesn't have any hard or rough shifting, cold or warm. But going down hill at 40-50 MPH and shifting to a lower gear to slow down, results in a momentary speed up. My understanding on the cause is that the 9 speed transmission shifts to neutral before it shifts to the lower gear. My Acura salesman told me about it up front. What I do is to brake momentarily just as I down shift. Works perfectly on a steep mountain road here in Utah.

Don't know if I've noticed that exactly, but I do notice that the transmission almost feels like it's slipping when Drive is engaged from Park and you start off. As if it's a delay caused by the new pushbutton gear selector.

Burning Brakes
I've got about 1200 miles on my '17 MDX SH-AWD, and noticed that shifting is a little "snappier" until it warms up. Also, during this warm up period, accelerating from a stop does have a slight "pause" until the vehicles starts moving more briskly. But I chalk it up to typical, since I've had other cars do similar things, and if you look at the Motor Week test of the '17 MDX, they noticed the same behavior. Once warmed up, it's behaves flawlessly....

1st gear is extremely short in this transmission. The 1-2 shift if lightly accelerating happens very quickly which could give the sensation of 'slipping', particularly when cold and the 1-2 shift is more pronounced. I'm not reading anything worthy of a dealer visit in this thread.
