2019 MDX power fold mirrors
Hello all. Just purchased a new 2019 MDX. We are having an issue with the power folding mirrors. We notice that at times when we lock or unlock the car both mirrors fold in or out and function as they are supposed to function. However, at times only the driver side mirror will fold in or out. This happens with both the key fob and the button on the door to manually fold the mirrors. I took it to dealer and of course it worked. Now I have a video showing the issue. Anyone else run into this problem? Is it something I am doing. Thanks. |
Not that issue yet. Had an issue last week, wife got in the passanger seat mirrors did not go out, alarm went off, and could not get it to shut off.
|
Update: Dealer is replacing mirror. They replaced a 19 RDX the week before for same issue. Hopefully this isn’t something that is common in the 19 Advance model.

I have a 2019 MDX Tech and I"m surprised it doesn't come with Auto Folding mirrors.....

My 2018 Tech has folding mirrors so Shan, look carefully through the customizable menus.

Which menu are you talking about? |
Also on my TLX Tech there was a button to fold it manually, this 2019 doesn't. Does your 2018 have a button?

Sorry for the delay. Yes, my ‘18 Tech has a switch on the door - separate and to the left of but part of the same plastic enclosure the mirror selector (for adjustment) - that allows folding/unfolding the mirrors.
i did not get in the vehicle and scroll thru the menus. I’m recovering from back surgery and ain’t very flexible yet. Give me a week if someone else doesn’t answer in the interim. |

Yes USA

My 2017 has passenger side not working all winter, now it works, now the driver side is totally dead for 5 months.. its going in when i come back from vacation next week.
Originally you hear the motor trying, now you dont even hear it |
if one is handy, one could try to grease the gears/motor.
|
thats what warranty is for.. ill let them touch it since the motor is not even turning, dont want to shell out for replacement cost if its defect, sounds like it is since other people are experiencing it

My new 209 MDX with Advance includes power folding mirrors which engage when you lock the door. The driver's side was only working intermittently. Brought it to the dealer days later . They replaced the mirror. Also have a wheel Shimmy issue. Steering wheel shimmy at 50 MPH + and when I hit the brakes at highway speeds. They replaced the front rotors (warped rotors will create shimmys when applying the brakes at higher speeds) and Reblanced the front wheels ONLY. The Shimmy is better but still there - yu feel it on the smoother roads. Need to bring it back to Dealer, BUT there is a 3 week wait for a loaner. According to them, due to the 3 major recalls, they don't have the loaners available. As a new Acura owner, coming from 4 Infinitis since 2007, I was not pleased with that service response. But we will see....

Scroll to Vehicle Settings using the multi-function steering wheel control, then push, then Door Setup, then Auto Folding Door Mirror

im in Canada |
Downloaded a Canadian guide. Shows same path to get to setting. Although I do see an asterisk beside the path. It says Auto Folding Door Mirror is not available on all models. Maybe yours fits in this category?
https://www.acura.ca/owners/manuals |
Canadian Models were the first to introduce Power folding mirrors back with first 3G, but that was Elite only. Usually Canadian models are better Specced than US ones.
As per this site, Base & Tech does not have folding mirrors, only A,Spec, Tech Plus & Elite have Folding mirrors. US Tech has folding mirrors. Also the menu option is only for setting auto close functionality. So if you dont have a physical button on your driver door, you don't have folding mirrors. |
