2017 MDX - no power from OBD2

I am trying to install BlackVue dashcam using BlackVue Power Magic EZ ( ) on 2017 MDX w/tech.

- When I connect the dashcam using Power Magic EZ to MDX OBD2, there is NO power to the dashcam with car on or off.
- When I connect same Power Magic EZ to my 2007 TL OBD2, there is NO power with car on or off.

- When I connect OBD2 code reader to either MDX or TL, there IS power to the reader !
- When I connect same Power Magic EX to Tesla S, there IS power to dashcam
- When I connect dashcam via cig. lighter adapter on MDX, there IS power to dashcam

I have done lots of reading but unable to find a solution. Anyone experiencing similar problem? I am tempted to check the OBD2 port's pin 16 (+12V battery) and pin 4/5 (ground) directly using multi-meter to see if there is power.

Common sense says it's the power magic adapter.. Maybe there's a jumper you can move.

Break out the multimeter, however, I suspect you'll have 12v at the obdii port

Do you have your dip switches set properly?

Dip switches are currently set to 12v cut-off. There is a switch to simply turn off the parking mode, so it would turn ON only when car is ON. This didn't help. Strangely it worked in Tesla, so I am little puzzled.

Sounds like it's time to get the multimeter out.

update...

After messing with this for a while.. I finally decided to check voltage directly coming out of OBD2. Pin 16 (+12v) and Pin 4 (GND) showed 11.8V on MDX and TL. Tesla showed 13.6V. So, I guess now it makes sense why Magic EZ didn't work, it cuts off power if less than 12v... this is the lowest setting Magic EZ has... sucks.

Car is about 1 year old.. is it normal for it to have 11.8V coming out of battery?

Strange thing is, cig. Lighter tested 12.1v, battery terminals were 12.1v as well. Obd2 was 11.8.
