2017 battery fan relay

Anyone have a battery fan relay fail? I just purchased a brand new MDX Advance...had it one day and on day two started it up and the dash lit up like a video game with every warning light and error message possible. got the care back to the dealer... now.. the part is not available is on 'national back order'... don't know when the part will be in... lovely

I would request that they remove the relay from a 2017 vehicle that they have in stock and then they can replace it when a new one comes in. Technically, they are not supposed to do this, but quite often they do.

If there is a "Pattern Failure" with this part - meaning that they are having a higher than normal failure rate - the normal supply chain does not have the reserve to meet the unexpected demand. This creates the National Back Order problem. Acura have to identify the problem and its cause, and order newly designed or manufactured parts from their supplier. This can take some time.

I recommend that you contact Acura Customer Care to see if they can give your situation a higher priority and authorize a free loaner car for you. If the dealership has no spare loaner cars, ask for a free rental car from one of the big rental fleets to be authorized.

Good luck.
