Anyone replaced just the mirror housing on gen 3 MDX? Everything is working on the inside and mirror is just fine. The driver side mirror (painted part) is scuffed and have already attempted to repair once. The colored housing is available for sale so I need some step by step guidance to exchange it.

I don't have the MDX manuals, but here are the 2016 Pilot version of the instructions. It should be very similar. Usually you need to pop the mirror off first, then you can work the casing off the mirror.

Optional: Power Mirror Removal if you want to work on it off the vehicle
1) Mirror Holder Removal
2) Mirror Housing Cover Removal
3) Do the reverse to re-install.

Thank you! Last question(s). How do I remove the mirror without breaking it and what kind of adhesive is needed to reattach the mirror?

There's no adhesive. You have to be careful, and it helps to tilt the mirror to the inside IIRC to expose the point you need to pry away at (it's clipped). See this youtube for an example on an older MDX but don't be as rough as the video lol:
