2015 MDX Elite - anybody had front struts go out?

I had a suspension related knocking sound from front suspension last winter before I reached my 80k warranty mileage and at the time I brought it in they could not find where its coming from and it seemed to be related to outside temperatures. When it was cold, I would hear it, when its warmer it kind of went away. They replaced front sway bar links but that had not resolved the issue and then winter was over and I didn't really hear it anymore. So now it has come to a point where it sounds like something is going to fall off the car when I hit dips and potholes on either side (in the front). They have checked and re-checked everything again, and re-torqued all nuts and bolts related to front suspension and there's nothing loose, no safety issues apparently. But the suspension knocking is very much there still.

FYI: The same week I bought the car, I had a problem with rear shocks, which basically went at 60k or earlier. Those were replaced under warranty and problem in the rear was resolved at that point and no issues since.

So I am wondering if other people have had these issues with front struts on the MDX?

At about 72K miles on my '14 I found the left front strut leaking. It's on the list of Spring Maintenance to replace them both. No knocking or other noises at this point.

2014 advance with 65k miles in New York. no issue.

Does the noise sound high like under the corners of the dash? I have that on my 04 Tl and it's my upper control arms or ball joints.

so after two days at the dealer, nothing was replaced but they did find only one thing loose and it was the battery mount. I came back to test drive the car with service manager and the knocking was gone. I would've never guessed it would be something simple like that but it makes sense. The battery was simply moving around when the front was hitting pot holes and such and essentially banging around in its tray. It did sound quite alarming and since I already had an issue with the rear shocks (there's actually a TSB for the rear shock problem) I guess I did not have complete confidence in the quality of the front suspension components. Well... live and learn. Glad it turned out to be such a simple fix.
