2014 MDX front lip spoiler question....
I purchased my 14 MDX 2 weeks ago, but the front lip spoiler I order wasn't in stock yet. Of course salesman said all accessories will be installed prior to deliver..but thats a whole different story. I went to my dealer to have the front lip spoiler installed yesterday. My salesman told me it would take an hour....well 4+ hrs later they were finally complete. Needless to say the installation looks absolutely horrible. I was wondering if there are any 14' owners with front lip spoiler that can tell me if there installation is similar to mine. It looks decent from a distance, but when you are up closer, both edges of the spoiler hang off the car and they are flimsy and loose. I can actually move them about 2 or 3 inches off of the car easily. Also on both left and right sides, it looks like they are held on by plastic zip ties, and one of them isn't even attatched. I watched them take the whole bumper off, so i have no friggin idea what they were doing. I posted a few pics, hopefully some other owners could let me know if there's is the same. The service guy agreed it looked like ass and would order me a new one and look into it further, but not sure if i want to take my car back and use it as a test case...

here a pics of the plastic zip tie on the left side..but they didn't put one on right side...looks like it was possibly broken off during installation.....calling my salesman in 7 minutes exactly....

Take the car back and tell them to fix it , they don't know how to install it , he needs to remove the bumper to do it , I'm having a similar problem with my dealer , it's to new and they are learning how to do it. I'm sure yours are not correct. I am waiting on the fog lights to do mine so labor will be less.

I was looking to get the Advance Model which I ordered 2 weeks ago but up to now my dealer still does not have any updates on my order. He told me that a tech/ent package in forest mist/eucalyptus (wife's preferred color combo) will be delivered next week and he asked me if I want that instead. I'm thinking about getting it and just have the remote start, backup sensors, and roof rails, and other accessories installed but I want to make sure first that everything will be done correctly. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks!
This is what I'm worried about. I posted the above comment in the 2014 MDX Accessories thread a few days ago. I hope that they fix this problem for you, TLbullet.
My wife and I couldn't wait for our originally ordered Advance trim in Forest Mist/Eucalyptus color combo so we finalized our purchase of a Tech/Ent trim in the same color combo that is already in transit. ETA is July 13. We also ordered a bunch of accessories (including front and rear bumper trim, remote start, backup sensors, running boards, roof rails, rear bumper protector, body side moldings, and splash guards) and we're just crossing our fingers that they install all of them properly. I emphasized this to my sales agent and I'm hoping that he "got" the message.

from what i can tell...my dealer guys installed the accessories on the showroom MDX pretty well (front and rear garnish/roof rails/running boards). these were on a FWD tech in fathom blue/graystone. hit and miss i guess.

about and hour after posting this...i was checking out the front trim..discovered the idiot tech scratched the crap out the chrome trim surrounding the front grill and the ACURA emblem. I was watching him work on the bumper upside down on the service floor..the idiot must have not had it protected....pretty much blew a gasket..obviously they are replacing it..but its pretty ridiculous. They are also having the MASTER SERVICE tech fix the front trim correctly. Def. a learning curve. I told him that i dont want to be the guinea pig.

You sure have a patience of a saint. If this happend to me, I would of gone ballastic. My MDX wont be arriving until September/October and I am a little reluctant about adding the sport trim.

Trust me, the sport trim is VERY much worth it. It changes the look of the MDX. I love the look. I am sure it's just new part growing pains.

Fun2drive, i was reluctant to have them attempt to do it a second time, but they did it perfect. Derinately worth the wait. A little nerve racking at times.
