20 x 8 vs 20 x 8.5 wheels for MDX 2017

Hi there,

This is my first time to be in your forum. I was looking for a specific information.

The current settings for MDX elite is 245/50/20 with 20x8 ET 55 5x120.

I am having problem to find 20 x 8 within reasonable price and realized that 20x8.5 is cheaper and more varieties are available.

If I choose to pick 20 x 8.5 would I have problem ? Did anyone install for their vehicles ?

Thank you all.

A 8.5 wide rim will be fine as long as you keep within the same rim size and offset. I would run 255-265 wide series tires if thats a option for you.

Thank you for your kind response, I can go wider but front turn might touch. It seems like gotta do x5 style.

0.5 inch = 1.27 cm. It seems like just a little wiggle room. What do you run on yours ?

I have the stock Tech rims on my 2018 Hybrid but the 2019+ Aspec & Advance models have OEM 20's with 8.5inch wide rims. I'm sure it will be fine on all 2014+ models.

You are right, I checked the A spec brochure and it indicates 265/45/20 with 20 x 8.5
