My first ever attempt to wrap a grill. If you look closely you can tell it’s no where close to prefect and I might have to do it again. But from far it looks fine.

Here are some before and after.

Thanks for the upload, keep us updated when you finish the job. Once I get the funds to purchase A-Spec wheels ill be doing the chrome delete as well.

Planning on doing the same with my Fathom Blue Pearl MDX. Wasn't sure how the wrap would do long term around the chrome exhaust tips? Debating about wrapping the entire top area in black between the roof rails.

Vinyl will pretty much melt around the faux tips when the vehicle is running. I wouldn't do it.

Love this on a black MDX. It's such a clean look. When people black out their chrome / badges on other colors, it's a mixed bag of results. If it's a clean execution like the A-Spec, then it can look good. If it's sloppy or overdone, it immediately cheapens the car.

Yes, please post more pics when you're done...would love to see the whole car shot. :toocool:

Around here solid black cars look ugly and are extremely hot in the summer. Black cars here in the Central Valley don't sell well. Also the owners are extremely aggressive, and are control freaks who need constant attention from others. It is probably different where you live.

I wish there was contrast between the two.. solid black front looks like it has disappeared

An artist would know what to do to make it look just right. Lots of colors can be combined with black to break up the I got an attitude all black car. Let's say the brake calipers are red - then red can be used to make highlights.

Here are some Kindig-It black show cars (click the links to see the car because some are not flat images)

perhaps a matte black grille or a grey instead of the paint matched grille.

and the chrome strip across the front is weird looking too!

I am in no way discrediting your work or effort, it just looks a little off.

I agree, chrome strip at front looks out of place. I would have blacked that out but ran out of vinyl.

Now I'm thinking if I should use red or black for that strip.

not red!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just commenting from an outsider visual point of view. the art of subtlety is an art. Less is more. There needs to be contrast, but not bloody red contrast. lol

of course, it's your truck/car/suv thing, so you can do whatever you want....
it just looks off. like the face has disappeared

but again, disregard my comments if YOU think it looks good.

There are different ways of doing it. If you search for "black car with red accents" there plenty of great options.

Let's see, one good thing about vinyl's are you can always peel off if it doesn't look good.

justnspace 07-03-2019 07:43 PM

right!

Haha, yeah! I guess it is different where I live because aggressive attention seekers come in all color cars.

The black looks great. My Aspec has the midnight chrome grill. Its okay but I think the solid black would have looked better.
