Black rear Acura emblem

Hello. I am new here, we just bought a white Acura MDX A-spec. I have removed all the emblems except the Acura symbol on the rear door because of the holes that are there. Has anyone found a place that sells black emblems? I know plastidip is a option but I would rather have a permanent solution.

So I got the back done. Does anyone have any ideas how to black out the front one now. I want to get rid of all the chrome on it.

How did you black out the rear Acura symbol? I did a chrome delete on my non-Aspec MDX Fathom Blue Pearl MDX; but left the front and rear Acura symbol alone. Don't mind the chrome look with the single Acura symbol on the front and rear because it matches the same emblem on the my 20" black Berlina center caps.

I wrapped it with gloss black vinyl wrap. I think it Turned out awesome. The hardest part was pulling apart the rear door panel to get at the bolts to remove everything

I've thought about wrapping the roof between the rails in black gloss vinyl wrap to help protect it and give it a unique look (Fathom Blue Pearl PMC edition). I still might leave the front emblem alone because I don't know if the ACC/CMBS radar system might be effected with chrome delete with plastic dip or wrap? I had to pull over a few times on the hwy in winter with my 11 MDX because the ACC/CMBS had a thin layer of slush covering up sensor panel. The 3rd Gen MDX ACC/CMBS seems to be overly sensitive already compared to my 11 MDX system.

I am curious, did you pull over because it was non-functioning or because it was functioning erratically causing it to brake when it should not?

My 11 MDX gave me a yellow warning message in the M.I.D. about the CMBS not working (I think) "check CMBS radar sensor". My 11 MDX still drove fine with no issues on the hwy. Pulled over on the first available exit and the sensor cover plate (along with the front end) was covered in a thin layer of black slushy winter road muck. Wiped the sensor area and the message went away once I restarted the MDX. The winter roads were just mostly wet; but, hwy speeds of +70 mph froze the muck to my front end.

If this happens again, it might just be easier to disable ACC/CMBS and use regular cruise control if it too much trouble to pull over all the time to clean.

I found some perforated vinyl wrap that I used on a previous project. I wrapped the front emblem so you can still see the Acura symbol but just faintly. It doesn’t affect any of the sensors so far after I put it

I have a 2019 A-Spec and would like the do the same mods. How does the front emblem come apart? Any youtube vids you'd recommend on how to wrap the emblems? Is that better than painting them gloss black?

I swapped out all 3 of the shiny chrome emblems with the dark chrome version and it looks so much better. I tried the plastidip matte black and absolutely hated it. I peeled it off almost immediately. It was too much of an amateur look. These OEM emblems make it look like it came from the factory this way.

how hard was it to remove the "A" emblem on the back? I think it has three plastic tabs that pop into holes in the trunk deck. Did you have to remove any liner etc. to access it??

The circle part of the emblem is adhesive, once you can get under that with fishing line you can easily pull the emblem out of the holes. On mine, the little grommets stayed in the holes, I pulled them out with a little pick tool. The new emblem comes with new grommets. And there are 2 prongs, not 3.

If you’re talking about for the emblems, the new ones come with it already attached.

I am planning on reusing mine, but looking at taking them off and prep them for a gloss black paint. Going for a permanent exterior chrome delete on the exterior of the MDX.
