Winter Mode

Winters went on today. 18" base MDX wheels with Blizzak DMV1 tires on my '17 Elite. Quite the downsize from the 20's lol. C'mon snow.

I have a 14 TL SHAWD and put on Blizzaks - Great tires. Curious though I would have expected the MDX to handle well in snow vs. other Acura models.

Nice setup! I'd like to hear your rundown of overall life with dedicated snow tires on the MDX. I've got about 10k on my set of BFG All-Terrain K02's (mounted on 17" Sparco Wheels) and I love them, besides the road noise anyway)

Ive used dedicated snow/winter tires on every vehicle Ive owned for the past 20 years or so. Everything for my beater '98 Civic, 3.8 Genesis Coupe, TLX and now MDX.

I dont find these Blizzaks overly loud, but the soft compound and tall side walls really does dull the MDX's ride and handling. I will prob only put 3000kms on them for now till April when they come off, so they should last several years.

First snow of the year here in Vancouver...frozen slush really is what it is. Brand new Blizzaks did OK on my 14' MDX Elite. ABS kicked in a lot as I crawled down out steep mountain, but not too bad.

My 20" Blizzak got the ABS kicked in a lot too. Looks like we got to be careful with this tire.

MTD-Really Sharp MDX!

I've got 17" Blizzak DMV-1's on my 2011 MDX and they are totally awesome tires in the snow. I got the winter package set from Tire Rack about 4 years ago and have been very pleased with them.

Went with dealer take off 2016 RDX 18" wheels. Had this model winter tire on a previous car and was VERY pleased with them. Impressed that the second set of Acura TPMS sensors auto learned within about two miles of driving.
