Congratulations man! It looks really good! Also THANK YOU for installing some protection on the car. I cannot understand people who buy expensive brand new cars and don't bother to get some form of paint protection applied.

I've used a quality wax or polish on my cars for almost 30 years now and have had great results even as the vehicles approached 10 years old. In my humble, some of these protective coatings are a solution in need of a problem.

That said, in this example, the pictures look great.

See but you strike me as someone who really takes pride in his cars. The vast majority of sheeple do not (not implying that OP does not). Also on top of that, you have to also take into consideration that no wax or polish will prevent rock chips like a 3M clear bra will.

Not taking any offense to any comments.
I have always washed and waxed all my cars myself. And, like you vic, have had great results. I got turned onto OptiCoat by a fellow acurazine poster in the RLX forum. He is one of the most knowledgeable posters and I totally respected his judgement. I have had both an RL and an RLX. Opticoat is one of a few products using new technology to bond to paint. It is NOT like that crap the Dealers try to add on. I put Opticoat on the RLX (Black Pearl). I had the RLX for 3 years and never had to wax it. Every wash, the water beaded like it was just waxed. I did use Mcguires Quick Detailer to add a bit of glossy feel. The product looks even better on the Pearl White paint.
It is a great product if you can find a certified installer.

By the way, I plan on getting the 3M Bra which I also put on my RLX. I experienced too many rock chip on my RL which I had for 125K miles

Washed it today for the first time after the treatment. "Wash" is a relative term. Virtually everything rinsed off when I sprayed it. Even some of the bug stuff rinsed off. Got their No Rinse wash product to then go over car with wash mitt. Dried with micro fiber.

Forgive me for my ignorance. What is OptiCoat? Is that a film?

Sorry. I read the earlier post and understand it now. Does it prevent rock chips?

I would say it helps for very small rocks, but not nearly as good as a clear bra. They don't claim it prevents chips
