If you have any slightest mechanical abilities, you can do install yourself no problems. Just follow install guide from my RLX post. MDX should be very similiar. I believe GROM posted install video on their YT channel of 2016 MDX but it should be very similiar to 3G MDX. That being said, any audio shop pro should be able to do install under 2 hrs max. Someone said Best Buy did their install in 1 hr. Whatever your local cost is I don't know. But around here it average ~$90/ hr.
I had installed car stereos in my younger years, so I do have some slight knowledge how to remove dash and such. But even if I was a complete noob, installation would not be that difficult. Just follow my guide or watch some GROM's YT videos.

Yes Wireless Android Auto (WAA) works flawlessly with recent updates. It was broken for a week or so but Grom quickly patched the issues.
I really enjoy driving the car now especially shorter trips with WAA. No more messy USB cables to deal with.

Only the top screen will display Vline. Bottom screen is reserve for all the infotainment stuff.

You should watch some of GROM demo videos on YouTube. They show you how to install and what it will look like.

I bought my VLine a couple of years ago as part of the pre-order before they were first released for the MDX and it sat in the box in my garage until I finally got around to installing it in our 2017 MDX Hybrid Advance a few weeks ago.
Having said that, I've been working with GROM tech support through some issues including the inability of my older unit to be updated with any of the newer firmware versions and I guess that this may have somewhat of an impact on how my VLine behaves and interfaces with the car. I will see what the outcome of this will be. However, in the meantime, I wanted to check with others who may have installed this unit in an MDX Advance model about how this unit functions on a day to day basis.
My wife mentioned that when she was using the VLine and had her iPhone connected, the rear cross traffic alert and backup audible alerts were not working. Once the car was put back to a different source such as SiriusXM, everything functioned like normal. I also have the issue of not being able to have the VLine display on the top screen and for me to be able to listen to SiriusXM, FM or any other source at the same time. GROM advises that there is a way to toggle between sources by holding down the Menu button for 5 seconds, so this may be a firmware issue, but this is not working for me at this time.
Can anyone who has this unit in their MDX Advance model let me know if all of the car's OEM features work alongside the VLine or if there had to be any sacrifices made when the VLine is in use and connected to the car through the iPod source?
Thanks!

Make sure you connect to proper reverse cable. I believe it's the Purple cable, at least in my RLX. I have absolutely zero issues. Working flawlessly for over 1 year now. GROM has steadily release updates to fix Carplay/Android Auto bugs. All working as it should now. Reverse camera works since day one for me. Never failed.

I'm definitely connected to the correct reverse wire as I tested it before tapping into it and the reverse camera does interrupt VLine's output on the upper screen, but it's the audible warnings that do not work while in reverse and the VLine selected as the source.
Are you able to listen to FM radio or SiriusXM through the car's head unit while using the VLine for let's say navigation through Waze or a different app?
Again, it might all be firmware related, but I just wanted to see what my expectations should be when talking to GROM about a fix.

I get Visual and Audio warnings just fine in reverse. Are you running latest firmware and software?
Yes, I can chose to listen to FM or XM source while having Maps on top LCD. I believe I have switch to FM source first, then press and hold System button to display VLine source on top LCD.
