Tail Light Fuse location
Have a problem on my 2014 MDX. Outer tail light (not the one on the tailgate) is not working. Brake light and directional are working fine. New bulb doesn’t help. Multitester registers 24 volts when you press brake, but 0 volts otherwise.
I’m thinking there’s a fuse blown, but the owners manual doesn’t list a location for a tail light fuse, unless it has some cryptic name. I’ve checked the diagram on the locations in each of the rear, interior, and engine compartment fuse boxes. Does anyone have any idea where to find the fuse? Thanks all, Paul |
Alternatively, does anyone know if I could use the fuse location from a model on a similar platform? I.e. Would a 2014 Pilot have the same fuse/relay location for a tail light?

I can't imagine there would be a separate fuse just for one light on the car. Assuming the tail light you reference is the U-shaped led, it's not replaceable independently from the whole housing, see second video: https://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2015_Acura_MDX_SH-AWD_3.5L_V6/lights/tail_light |
I agree that there is not likely a separate fuse for the one light- it's probably for both tail and/or brake lights. The light in question is not the LED on the tailgate- it's the tail light on the that has an individually replaceable bulb.

Gotcha. On my 2015 the outer housing has two LED strips that match the tailgate housing. |
Hmmm- so maybe the tail lights on the outer fixture are LEDs that are built into the assembly? I can try a new assembly, but I'm not sure how that would work- the only wiring coming into the piece goes straight to the bulbs. I don't see any wiring that would power built-in LEDs.

Check the second video on the link I posted above. It depicts removing the outer tail light housing. I believe it's two bulbs (brake & turn) then a harness plugged into the housing itself. |
