Should a new 2018 MDX already leak oil?

I recently purchased a 2018 MDX (not AWD) and it has 1800 miles. I noticed this weekend a little oil on the garage floor -- just a few drops. Is that normal?

I purchased the car back in September and the temperatures recently dropped to the upper 30's so I didn't know if the seals haven't set yet.

Thanks,
Tomer

Tomer; in general car's shouldnt leak oil.
if you're not one to get underneath the car to look for the oil leak, you'll need to take it to someone who will be able to find the source of the leak...Since it's a new car...take it to the dealership.

I crawled underneath and noticed that the leak seems to be near the two bolts at the bottom. Sounds like I'll be heading to the dealership this week.

Thanks,
Tomer

courageous with temps touching the upper 30's!
not sure if the vehicle ever had an oil change, but perhaps, someone over tightened the bolt. or perhaps something up-top is leaking. The good folks at your Acura dealer may diagnose it better.

You should have NO leaks.....
Make sure to check all the TSB listed here for leaking part near transmission (ZF9) in particular.... bring those with you to dealership.... Good luck!

Get a rag and wipe under where the oil is dropping down from the oil. Then see where the oil is coming from.

Not unless Acura changed to BMW gaskets.

An amateur oil change can provide leaks as well, or at least the perception of leaks. You know, the one where you try to pour out of the bottle into the oil reservoir without a funnel? Missing the opening for the first couple of ounces. It happens and the oil ends up on the motor and anywhere else eventually making it to the ground.

Do you smell oil burning as well? Newer vehicles should be immune to this issue. Get it back to the dealer. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for jumping in. Dealer had to keep it for a few days to find the issue: leaking oil from corner of oil pan assembly. Looks like they took the oil pan and found a spot on the pan that had no sealant. They resealed the oil pan with new Hondabond sealant.
