I was able to get an appointment at my dealer to have the Rod Bearing recall done on my 2019 MDX SH-AWD Advance (21.5k miles). The net-net is that my engine was a part of the recall, and upon inspection all of the bearings needed to be replaced. 2.5 days later I have the same engine with new bearings - and the work seems to have been done well and the engine drives smooth and quiet (it had no noise before, but mileage was low). Below is a picture of the bag of bearings that came out of my MDX, and a close-up of a couple of the bearings showing the inner and outer wear they observed.

Main takeaway is that the recall itself does NOT authorize nor recommend replacement of the oil filter, even with the oil itself being changed. My dealer now has a policy of notifying the client upon checking for the recall and offering the filter replacement. But your dealer may not - so just be aware of this decision by Acura (I consider it bean-counter mentality).....

The inner picture is what really matters, but can't really see any glaring issues with what you are showing here...but thanks for the info!

I did ask this same question on another board, but maybe this one has an Acura/Honda tech on it.......Does anyone know exactly what is wrong with the crank?
