Refueling should not be this exciting...

Stopped for gas the other day and the nozzle decided it did not want to leave the fuel port😞

It it took over a minute of careful jiggling before the nozzle was released.

Has this happened to other folks? Any way to free the nozzle other than fiddleling around?

There are no legal requirements for fuel nozzle size or color. Even diesel fuel can be dispensed through nozzles that may be green, black, yellow or any other color the retailer desires. Even the nozzle size is not legally regulated. So what happens when a gas station nozzle breaks? Instead of closing the pump and losing business, the manager/owner will find an older nozzle to temporarily put on. This could be from an older pump where the size was not as important. These nozzles also take a beating. People drop them all the time, leave them in their car and drive off and use them to bang on stubborn gas can caps or whatever. So they do get bent out of shape (pun intended). I would suggest that you report that gas pump nozzle to the owner or try shopping for fuel elsewhere.
