Rear Window Shades Hooks

Rear window shade hooks were missing on my MDX. Dealer sent me two hooks to install. Any idea how? Seems straightforward but I can't get them to snap on.

Try asking them for a PDF instruction for installation

Hooks missing and they send them to you for self installation? Is this a new vehicle?

I'm 1.5 hours from dealership. thought it would be straightforward . Apparently not. Nothing heavy duty double stick tape can't fix.

Double-sided tape, yikes. I'd have issue especially if this is a new vehicle. Do you have a Honda dealership nearby? A Honda dealership can do many of the same repairs/maintenance to your vehicle.

I honestly think the tape is robust enough to hang the shade. I will mention to dealer next time I'm in for service.

Why do you spend big money on a "new" car just to use double-sided tape on it?

I completely understanding wanting "new" -- that's what I do. But I also do my best to keep everything perfect. If you're going to ghetto-rig things, then just buy used and save the cash.

Actually the OP never answered the question to whether the vehicle was new or not. I am in agreement with you. If it is new, you shouldn't have to resort to a quick fix for anything, even if you are miles away from the dealership. Just sending me the part for self-install wouldn't cut it in my book. To each their own.

Vehicle is brand new. I asked for the part to be sent to me due to distance from dealer for such a small repair. Double stick tape is holding up the very light sun shade. No issue on this end. Will have dealer do a perm fix on the hooks next time I'm in for service. Thanks for your concerns.

I doubt that double sided tape will last very long. Those shades have decent recoil. I would get it done correctly whether its by the dealership or yourself.
